Tanzania is a country with a much higher percentage of albinos than the rest of the world, and it's also a place where albinos face serious danger because of widespread beliefs that the flesh and body parts of albinos hold some type of magic.

How hard it is to be different. I was surprised by the death rate from skin cancer, though. I thought it might be 20%
Why does human ignorance nearly usually express itself as fear, hatred and violence?

I would say that Country needs to do a major educational program to try to turn this around.

I hope the albinos are protected while changes are made to educate the "witch doctors."

The Albinos' slaughter has been going on for years in many African countries. I wish the medias would cover this much more than they do. The beliefs they carry in their flesh are persisting in time and nothing is really done to protect them. Such a shame, really. Thank you for bringing this up !
