Fly around and shoot them from the planes like they are doing to our wolves. We need to save the rhinos at all costs. The poachers do not deserve a chance to skirt justice. Just kill them all!

Until the poverty which drives poaching is eliminated...all the choppers in the world would be enough.

To Pam W. Poverty is not what is driving the slaughter of our rhinos - it is actually the other side of the coin. It is the wealthy that want the rhino horn. The poor cannot afford it. Even if it was the poor, being poor is no excuse to slaughter these magnificent animals. Because it is the rich demanding the horn, it makes it even more disgusting!!

To Leslene Dunn: I agree with you on one point. This government is retarded and don't give a F*** about ANY life - never mind that of an animal. What people must understand is that he SA government are NOT the ones to bring this plane into operation. This was done by a private organisation. The SA government has not even committed ONE CENT to the security of our rhinos. This must be the most useless government on the face of this planet - they are only interested in what benefits them. I am South African, I love my country passionately. I love the rhinos passionately (all animals really) BUT I hate this government JUST AS PASSIONATELY. They are useless (beyond useless). At one time, there was talk about bringing the army in - it seems that it is just talk. I think that orders must be gven to shoot the poachers on sight - no questions asked. Find out who the big wigs are that are fuelling this demand - AND SHOOT THEM TOO !!!!

I thoought the poachers already were using aircraft. I agree with a lot of the commenters. They need to make these area's no fly zones and shoot down anyone in them. Hope they are successful. The other option is to have their military stay with the rhino's at ALL times. Better yet, hire some of the villagers to do this.
