nice to see Care2 hanging out at one of my favorite sites...though i believe that "Yakima" has been typoed, lol. (not by this site, either)

Native Americans have a history of reverence for life that stems from the day-to-day realities of living with other creatures for survival. i applaud their efforts and will see if i can manage a local fundraiser for them uniting animal people with the local tribals for a common goal.

Dogs and cats on the rez do not seem to be given care or consideration. I am glad this group is trying to help those animals.

Good for these 3 people. Too bad the Tribal Council wouldn't get behind this in some way.

You can see the pain and suffering in his face ,he is a lucky dog to have been -rescued from the hell hole he must have been -existing in,animals like Warrior will continue to be abused and neglected while laws are not made tougher for the abusers to gain ownership of them, records should be kept of -animal abusers and -enforced.

Stricter -laws and checks on people who buy animals from animal shelters-checks on puppy farms restriction on the amount a litter a breeding dog can have a year -the dogs living conditions etc.and a licence for backyard breeding -only then will these poor animals have a chance of being cared for by those who genuinly -love animals.

Thanks for this post Cal...I learned something and made a few new contacts from it...
I network dogs from the Tri Cities Animal Shelter of which Yakima is included, but unfortunately this rescue's fb page isn't well kept, and Indian Country online isn't necessarily the "go to" site when you're thinking about adopting a dog (at least not in my experience anyway)
So I called a few rescues in that area to find out about it, and could only find 4 dogs they had up for adoption, and had to go to a webpage to get that.
Luckily after talking to 2 other rescues, one called Res Q Angels (that coincidently had worked w/my rescue in the past) I was able to get a name and number so that I could contact them and offer to help them network and get that fb page in working order...

And i wouldn't have had a clue w/o your heads up Buddy...you ROCK. ;-D
