In Mongolia's capital, every driver has to take one day a week off from driving into the city

My god, lets hope that buses come into play here!

They should really look at those mini driverless trains that I have used in France. They run as often as a bus but are more frequent and always on time.

Ulan Bator has a LOT of problems! When the Chinese pulled out, they left behind a city without resources. Even today, it's filled with pot-holes, broken curbs, failures in electrical systems, etc. Mongolians "inherited" a semi-modern city without any tools to keep it operating...let alone improve it. Foreign money is vital and there are some new buildings going up. BUT...until the workers in those buildings have good transportation....traffic and pollution are inevitable.

Cars in Mongolia are a mixture of styles....drivers sit on the left AND on the right. I can't tell you how terrifying it is to be crossing a street and seeing an apparently driverless car speeding toward you!
