TAKE ACTION NOW! Save UK Animal Sanctuary From Unwarranted Closure

After 64 years of dedicated service to the community's unwanted animals, the Mill House Animal Sanctuary deserves so much more than this. One noise complaint should not have the power to close down this sanctuary and endanger the lives of several animals

This is ridiculous. I street viewed it on google maps, and the neighbours aren't even close and are so few and far between. They should be giving them support, not running off to council filing noise complaints.
Petition hard!

If the council owned the sanctuary building a soundproof fence would not be a problem but as with all unwanted animals the governments dont want to know dont give any aid and turn a blind eye to the sufferings of unwanted animals If it wasnt for the kindness of our charities for animals you wonder what would happen Its obvious the council dont give a damn Time these depts tried to lend a helping hand instead of giving ultimatums to people who struggle and are dedicated Its obvious that animals are not thought much of otherwise these places would get more help

This is disgusting. This animal sanctuary is not even near houses
The council is disgraceful. They should be helping the sanctuary and not hastling it.
There needs to be a petition to terminate the employment of the dumbarse council staff who are hassling this wonderful sanctuary

I trust that the good people of Sheffield will band together and assist in the funding of a sound-proof screen. The complainant apparently is a Bryan Longstone-Hull. Find him on FB and remind him what good will at Christmas is supposed to mean.

For every action there is a reaction. According to the law of karma, if we cause pain and suffering to other living beings, we must endure pain and suffering in return, both individually and collectively. We reap what we sow, in this life and the next, for nature has her own justice. No one can escape the law of karma.

This rescue IS NOT BEING CLOSED DOWN. The whole story is written incorrectly and much of the necessary information is missing.

The rescue cannot be closed on one complaint, it would have to be proven in court. It also has a right of continuance as it has been there for 64 years (34 as a charity) and, additionally, there have been no previous complaints. What would happen is that notices about the noise would go out and then an Environmental Health Officer would have to take several records of unreasonable noise - extremely loud or continuous.

As it happens, a nearby rescue has spoken to their benefactor and a fence is being built. I believe that this complaint was made by someone who moved to the country and didn't research the area. This rescue has not bothered anyone else for 64 years so it would have to be someone new. They realised that it was run by 2 little old ladies and tried to take advantage of them, and managed!!

Thanks for the "update" Gillian, ... I hope you're right !!! Signed the petition anyway as it cannot "harm" that the council are made aware of public opinion. I don't use Facebook but I hope that those of you who do will BOMBARD the complainant (apparently Bryan Longstone-Hull) with as many UNHAPPY CHRISTMAS messages as possible ....... think he should get rid of his double-barrel surname and just use SCROOGE from now on !!!!!

signed. it makes no sense that a 'sanctuary' has to be closed due to one complaint. you chose to live there, this place has been open for 64 years! honestly, people need to move on with their lives instead of being so petty-and choose more wisely where they live!

According to the Sheffield Star, the complainant is one Mr Bryan Longstone-Hull.

One complaint??? This is insane, these innocent victims will pay the price if the sanctuary is closed. These wonderful animals are there because people decided they didn't want them anymore. PEOPLE are the problem, NOT the animals. They are not disposable.Without the sanctuary these poor animals would have no where to go.
