Thank Michigan mother for generating the support necessary to make a law banning cell phone use for new drivers.

Signed. Going to the right direction, but why not ban for ALL drivers?

For new drivers? Sorry, should be all drivers.

They're commended.

But why isn't this in effect everywhere? How many people are killed and injured every year in this way? I just don't understand how it''s allowed.

I don't care for much of Michigan's shenanigans, but this sounds reasonable for a change!

Unfortunately it takes a tragedy to change a persons way of thinking.

I doubt there could be a more stupid, destructive, costly & DEADLY combination than phoning / texting & driving!

Ah...anyone on a cell phone while driving is a potential danger. The people who swerve right into my lane and then right back into theirs while not even noticing that I was right there because they're too busy talking on their phone are usually people later than their teens. Granted, new drivers definitely don't need the added distraction, but it's a distraction for everyone!
