The Indian Parliament is closing without passing the toughest child labour law in its history. Worse, the bill is supported by the majority of MPs, but was ignored for weeks, because they felt it was not a 'priority'

In our countries, we take education for granted. It is so important. If India is going to continue to develop, and in a good and sustainable way, all children need to have access to education!

Noted, signed and shared on FB. I remember many faces of children on the street and those at facilities run by non-governmental (charity) organizations. They need education. They need schools. And the schools must cater to their specific needs. Just allowing them to attend the class is not enough. They quite easily drop-out.

THIS is the sort of thing the UN SHOULD be doing.

But...they're too busy being "politically correct."

India is at a point due its population explosion, and a government that has absolutely no idea how to proceed, is looking at a probable explosion of tensions in 2013.

a cheap and uneducated populace is an easily controlled one. China shot itself in the foot when there was a rounding up of educators during one of the "great leaps" (backward!!!).
Not only do the 3rd world need to be educated, but we must make sure that OUR education systems remain free and up to snuff.

It just tears my heart when humans abuse each other, especially when children are involved. Same goes for animals (though I'm not a vegetarian.) Our species have got to evolve; I'm doing my part best I can. BTW can we please stop with the name-calling.
