Between 2 and 2:30 am EST the Senate passed the bill,, now it will depend on the House. Meanwhile, people are once again held hostage by those in the House that claim an interest in fiscal responsibility, while actually doing nothing more than protecting their funding for the next election.

I am a single unmarked adult living on a fixed income. I get paid once a month. I retired I Louisiana and pay estimated taxes of $370.00 quarterly. I usually get some, not a lot, from the federal government. If I have to pay extra taxes I will be devastated. I pay mortgage, utilities, doctor bills a lot since I'm a diabetic. And getting on in tears. (you know how your body parts tend to shift). I have had one COLA. I get paid once a month. Sometimes that once a.month extends to 35 days before my check is posted. It is hard for me to adjust to living on a fixed income without worrying myself to death. At times i feel like a prisoner living in my own my own Home. So if I have to pay more taxes I really don't know what I am going to do. I can start Medicare in a year. I worked after school to earn my quarters. Louisiana did not start taking out for SS until 1988 and would not grandfather us in due to funding.

Ridiculous...I still say if we make these congresspeople, etc., live on what we 'normal' folks have to live on, they'd change really fast.
