We really need to think through whether we need all the paper we use. If my blowing my nose in a tissue multiplied by thousands of millions is killing those people and tigers, then I don't mind using a handkerchief and washing it like I did when I was younger. think of paper cups, paper trays, Do we really need to send Christmas cards when we can send e- cards? Lets all think and act.

It appears the vile AP&P has gained momentum to the extent of dead people
and dead tigers who are now in the fray. It should have been prevented from
logging our great Rainforest in Sumatra, Indonesia, Borneo etc... prior to
these catastrophies. At this rate of progress AP&P will eventually deforest
all of the planets valuable timbers, Rainforests and peatlands while destroying exotic endangered island animal species. Other than a handful of activist, their work continues with little or no resistance.

Thank you Cal for posting.

Can we accept this as "just the way it goes" when people are killing the last tigers...have we really done all in our power to avoid the extinction of big cats like tigers and lions and...

NO! They have the whole world against them and they keep on cutting trees, with all the terrible consequences that we know. GREED is the only thing that matters for those people.

What do you expect? You are taking the tiger's home away from him and his is going to try to protect his territory. We were supposed to be a "paperless" society, but it seems we are using more not less. This is again the result of the "Mine" mentality. We have become a very self centered, smug, greedy society and won't be happy until the world is one large parking lot.

"Sumatra lost 7.5 million hectares of forest between 1990 and 2010. Conversion for palm oil and pulp and paper production is the biggest driver of deforestation in Sumatra.

Riau Province accounted for 42 percent of forest loss on the island, which is the only place on Earth where rhinos, orangutans, elephants, and tigers can be found living in the same habitat.

The Sumatran tiger is critically endangered due to habitat loss and poaching on the island of Sumatra. It is Indonesia last tiger species — the Javan and Bali tigers are believed to have gone extinct during the 20th century."

It's time to stop printing everything out to read it, and to quit using virgin pulp for cardboard.

Thanks for sharing this Cal!

Tigers and big cats are endangered all over the world. Some are on the verge of extinction.

We need to stop the needless killings of these magnificent cats and other species.

This is just one example of why we need to cut back on paper use. Rainforests are also being destroyed in the name of paper. Wildlife losing habitat and dying, plants that are used in life saving drugs being destroyed and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Are you going to pay for it? The people who live there want a better life. Not some jungle to pander to tourists.
So what employment are you going to install? Hmmm Other people have to live too. Live with 22nd tech and food and all that we take for granted. I don't see any money coming down to make these people rich with cars and TV and state of the art internet. See it from their side of things.

Bloody hell...this is terrible, and no surprise for me at all that this is happening to supply the most pathetic and ignorant country on this planet, that being China. I wish other nations would wake up and sniff the java and stop doing any business with this hell hole of a country. Shamefull on both countries.
