Hopefully their extinction from the area wasn't part of Mother Natures grand plan..
It's been a long time, and I would hate to see an adverse impact to the ecosystem that has survived, though I guess they couldn't possibly affect it as negatively as man has.

This looks both interesting and exciting. I have the sinking feeling that wild animals like the wolf, that are hunted now, will need to be "re-wilded" some years in the future when the become extinct. Good to know there are folks out there with the interest, desire and knowledge to achieve this.

Thanks Cal for the link to the very interesting article by Christian Schwägerl. What a great idea and I do hope it will be tried in other locales and countries. It was also good to note that there is an effort in Berlin for rooftop beekeeping. Read and noted.
