The last amnesty program was promised to be the last amnesty program. Does our government do nothing but lie?

It's about the votes for the democratic party, Darrel. It's all about the votes and pure political crap. We have always embraced immigration in America. If someone wants to become a US citizen they need to follow the law, do the paperwork, and come into our country as a law abiding taxpaying American citizen. It's as simple as that.

Do you know how hard it is to become a citizen of Mexico? They would never allow Americans into their country unless the proper paperwork was done and they would never allow American criminals to infiltrate their country.

"Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), through a spokesman, said he would review the proposal but stopped short of embracing it."

++++++++++++++ Another power play from the Republicans.

Diane O you could NOT be more WRONG! It is not about the votes. Illegal immigrants cannot vote. You should worry about the loss of our democracy through the fublican parties gerrymandering voting districts! By the way do you have any idea what American fucorporations are doing to Mexico's economy? Start with fuk-mart, small Mexican business owners have been destroyed and by the way the disparity of dollars going into Mexico versus the profits brought back into America is truly obscene! The immigrants who leave their countries are doing so out of sheer desperation and yes I am all for what is written at the foot of the Statue of Liberty! "Give me your tired and poor huddled masses"

If Obama actually had a plan, this would would not be such an ordeal. Then again, because he does not have a plan, this Senate panel has become a necessity.

How desperate is the republican party to get votes? This desperate! They are such liars and hypocrites. Quite obviously they can not be trusted.

Sounds a whole lot like Obama's framework for proposals about two years ago.

Actually Diane O. is correct but lying, John McCain came out and flatly admitted that the Repugs are for this because the 2012 election proved that the Repugs can not have even a slim chance of winning if they keep pissing off Immigrants. The Amnesty BS is just that BS in giant elephant sized meadow muffins, read the damn thing, it does not take up to 40 years for Amnesty.
The actual Gang of 8 proposal is pure politicaltheatere as written. Call it a poison pill or trigger of treachery, the section that calls for a Commission composed of the likes of Jan Brewer and Joe Arpio from the SW Border States to sign off on Border Security being accomplished meand that hell will freeze over before anything other than Border Security is actually put into action.

I have to say I'm suspicious - after fighting any immigration reform so long, this particular group comes up with a plan? I suspect we do not know all.... political theatre to lure folks into thinking there is reform? Or what?
