Thanks Cal for the post. I have seen the ad and can proudly say I helped a little bit in funding it. Post noted.

when you have the head of the Senate going against the President - and is in the same party -- one of them has to go -- in my opinion it is Reid -- what a crap head!

Kudos to MoveOn.org for taking this very important step. Their message is reasonable and represents the opinion of the majority of Americans. Let those who favor the idiotic views of the leadership of the NRA continue to listen to Fox News, Wayne LaPierre, and especially Ted Nugent --who always comes off as the poster boy for why we need tougher gun control. Common sense and the voice of reason are what's needed to counteract the lies and conspiracy theories being spread by LaPierre and his ilk.

It's a terrific ad and says what we all should be saying. Congress works for US - or they are supposed to work for us anyway. They need to be reminded they can be fired just as easily as they were hired.

This will fade away like a sore throat. It's right up there with "spitting into the ocean." It hardly makes a difference.

Love the MoveOn organization.

Love the bumper sticker idea and commercial "The NRA Doesn't Speak for Me"

As a member of MoveOn.org, I'm so glad to see this. Join us and add your name to the many petitions created, as well as info on local happenings. We have a strong group here in the Tucson area. I've taken part in many protests here, and there are no dues or fees. Contributions are welcome, though. We aren't going away, or "spitting in the ocean." Our membership is growing and we are having impact.

Think Second Amendment and then research the new polls where the majority of Americans want their guns because the Second Amendment tells them they have the right to protect themselves.

Sorry, but even The Messiah, Obama, will not have his way to trample on our Constitution. People kill people. They kill them with knives, baseball bats, steel poles, their hands around someone's neck...people intent on killing someone will find a way to do it...homemade bombs....the list goes on.

When someone breaks into my home and threatens me and my family, I will have my gun to protect all of us. The Second Amendment tells me that I have that right to protect myself. Obama's daughters go to a school that has 11 armed security guards. Obama believes in protection for his two daughters where guns are involved. Obama believes in the Second Amendment. What he is doing now is playing a game in America. Nothing Obama has tried to do over the past four years has "stuck to the wall." Everything has failed so what does he do? He goes after the Second Amendment even though he believes in protecting his family.

Who funds Moveon.org? Wouldn't that be the mega billionaire George Soros? I thought the liberals hated all the rich people. Or perhaps you are "selective" in which rich people you hate. Just the republican rich people? Maybe some rich people but not all rich people especially if they are funding your cause like George Soros? It gets confusing.

This message will not be sufficient but it is necessary to make the corruption of politicians known in general and specifically when possible. I do not want money to run politics like it does now - even if a particular issue would be the same opinion as the very big money. Campaign contributions corrupt and unlimited contributions induce unlimited corruption. I am appalled that people would rather silence free speech than stop all the bribes by people who wish to gain favors from the government in secrecy.

Diane O., I don't know the last time someone made a drive by knifing or poling or bare handing anyone.
Or there was a school mass knifing or baseball batting or bare handing.
Any idiot knows that guns were invented to supersede in effectiveness any weapon that has to be struck with by hand. Requires hardly any effort in comparison as well. Just move one finger, essentially point and click. Harms and kills at much greater distances too. The list goes on.
Get out of your cavewoman mentality and quit justifying your bs.

A gun also hits others with multiple impacts and multiple people easier and faster too. Only someone bent on justifying their bs would deny the choice of a gun for multiple murders or harm over a 'knife, pole, bat, or bare hands'.
How old are you? Grow up.

MoveOn is spot on! Good commercial. Will it be effective? Time will only tell but 2014 can't come fast enough!

Couldn't agree more Ewoud. Get the corruption out of government! Government is supposed to be for, of and by the people, well at least in the US. You'd never know it though listening to the Republican/Teabaggers and the SCOTUS who gave personhood to corporations.
