China has some of the worst air I've ever seen! We ALL got sick because our lungs couldn't process the particulates in the air. I tell everyone I know who's planning to travel there....take supplies for upper-respiratory infections because you'll need them.

Of course...all their rotten air comes across the Pacific and ends up in California......

The Chinese people are finding out what we found out in the last century, economic progress and development come at huge cost to human life. Costs denied by the government or the 1% who reap the profits and leave the soil dead and poisonous, the air unbreathable and the water unfit for human consumption. Progress, run rampant, without the checks and balances of the environmental movement to be sure people and planet remain in harmony is the bane of the last two centuries and probably of the next two as well. The Chinese people understand chi, yin and yang, too bad their leadership has forgotten their history.

When I took my environmental science class in college, I learned that China and the US were responsible for more than 70% of Earth's pollution problems. That's scary!

Thank you. I hope the Chinese people create enough pressure to force the government to create and enforce environmental protection laws. (Noted, and shared)

Varcolak. Where would the world be without humans? Green, verdant, totally full of live as it was during the age of the dinosaurs. But, that is not why that creation was brought into being. Without sentient life, these worlds are without purpose. We have to learn that we, humans, are stewards of the life on Terra. We are not it's oppressor or it's raper. This is what we are learning now as a global civilization. Big business like oil. coal, factory farms, drugs. communism, capitalism are all social experiments that will fail. From the ashes of the Old World Order will arise a new and much better future. We have the bounty or tragedy of living during this social change.

They'd better clean up the air. I'm planning on taking a trip there with Viking River Cruises in the near future and I don't want to get sick.

Love the way he mentions about growth being so important. If he want to be alive with healthy citizens he better take this matter serious. Thanks Cal
