Many women around the world and in the United States have faced forced adoption. Thankfully, I did not have to deal with this painful practice.

Thanks Cal for posting the link to the article by Freya Petersen. Kudos to Prime Minister Gillard and the Australian Parliament for this long delayed apology and for committing 5 million Australian dollars to support affected families, with some of the funding enabling biological families reunite. Read and noted.
