read and noted and signed the petition on on 4-19-13 the same exact thing had happened to lake meade in las vegas, nevada and if people do not stop abusing our waterways we all will no longer be able to enjoy them nor will future generations sometimes these things are taken for granted and by the blink of a eye it disappears and then we are left scratching our heads we have to realize that the colorado river serves 7 states so that's alot of water when you look at the big picture and also alot of wildlife depends on the water too.

The disappearing water in no news, the Lake Aral in the Russia has almost vanished compared to what it was fer decades ago. The same thing is happening in the Great Lakes area. everyone tries to find the culprit, but is us all. It is the global warming that is causing this. And the USA has not yet signed the Kioto Agreement (climate change and CO2 emissions), and if lobbers have their say, never will. But the most important thing is to prevent things getting any worse. The Colorado River starts from one particular area, and the climate in the source area needs to be studied and counter measured taken asap. What is the point of nature and animal preservation and conservation, if governments do not take action to fight global warming? Lobbers think of only one thing: how to get more and more land or whatever to be used for commercial purposes despite the climate change and the amount or pollution produced by the businesses they are lobbing for. And these things are really just a tip of the iceberg, there will be more serious effects in the future. Sorry to be a pssimist, but that is just realism, if governments don't join forces to fight global warming.
