Good that he was captured. the story raises more questions than it answers. How can such nice lads do this? Are there hypnotic techniques used in recruiting these perpetrators? did they fail exams because they were being influenced or were they influenced because they could not keep up academically? If they were "put up to it", who did it? So on and so forth.

Alexandra poses some interesting questions.. SO often these awful bombings are caused by young men who have been indoctrinated with some crazy ideas and they think that they are doing the right thing for some eccentric cause... not necessarily because they are totally mad or psychotic. Anyone COULD be brainwashed to kill, given the right set of circumstances. ( Not MY Idea, but a scientifially proven fact!) Not that that helps the vicitms of these horrendous and senseless bombings, but if we knew more about the reasons why, we might get a little closer to stopping things like this happening. Thanks Cal. Noted.

Glad he's in custody; let's find out why and who else was behind the brothers. I want to know what motivates a couple of young men who had every opportunity to make something of themselves do this.

I haven't forgotten Beslan and the atrocities commited on helpless children, who the Chechens raped, totured and shot in the back as the little ones tried to escape their evil clutches. That the bombs were placed among innocent spectators closest to children is no surprise because that is how these brainwashed evildoers operate. Notice how some of the family are defending these guys? so typical of these religious fanatics. Only the uncle condemns, but the father and the aunt are claiming the perps were 'framed'- in the face of all the irrefutable evidence the question must be asked - WTF are they thinking?

I"m with you Michael. There's a lot more to this than we know. I think these two were brainwashed puppets for the real culprits. I hope they find them also because if not, who's to say they won't do it to others and this sort of thing will happen again.

Noted and viewed video, tx. My roommate and I were glued to the tube all day Friday. Thank God it came together on Friday and didn't take longer. What an impressive week it was. I have a lot of feelings around it. Hard to sum them up in a comment.

Thanks Cal, We should all be very careful about pointing fingers. All of us have cultural, religious, government persons and organizations who Do and have indoctrinated (mind bended) youth and all ages, for many thousands of years; to kill, main, hate. imprison, torture, any who may be different from their particular "indoctrination". This means any of we humans around the world. Ask yourselves: 'am I an indoctrinated human'?

I agree with those above commenting that it is necessary to find reason for this. It's interesting to note that the Tucson shooter, Loughner, won't stand trial....neither will the Aurora theater shooter. We will never have a public explanation by the perpetrators of these violent crimes; they will have no day in a court of law. In my opinion, that is a miscarriage of justice.

The brother who died received a light sentence compared to the brother who lives. Better to fall into the hands of Creator than into the hands of angry police who already were further outraged by the death of a fellow "cop". His "rights" have already been yanked away. Wonder, or more accurately know, what happened to him on the way to the station and afterwards.

And if he lives long enough to be given a life sentence, you know what prisoners are like? He will either be given solitary confinement (which can drive him into hysterical hallucinations) or he'll be left to the work of the other prisoners.

No, I don't think he acted freely on his own will. Brainwashed, hypnotized, of course! That's why the brothers were walking through so "calmly". That was not calmness. It was hypnosis. I read that they had made a trip to the enemy's quarters. Two na´ve young Americans, brain washed to the cause.

I'm not going to say more.

EXCEPT I salute the noble police officers who risked their lives to save their people. My prayers are with the people of Boston who are STRONG!!! My tears are with those who lost loved ones and those who were frightfully injured, many with amputations and their dear families. ....................................

I'm afraid the remaining brother is somehow going to "mysteriously" manage to commit suicide, though naturally no one helped him. Or perhaps he night be killed while escaping. These aren't possibilities I support, remember, just ones I suspect may be manipulated into happening, so that he may be wiped off the public's conscience, and that of the government. Do I sound a little paranoid? Perhaps. I just hope he can be kept safe from protesters, both inside and outside of officialdom, long enough to stand trial and allow us all to gain some closure.

hypnosis, brainwashed....really??? You've got to be kidding. Making excuses for this horrendous act is unbelievable!

I too am glad he was caught. Job well done by Boston police, FBI and citizens. He supposedly in critical condition that they may not get any information from him. I pray that there isn't any more of these hatred actions in the future. It has to stop. Thanks Cal

what happened to him on the way to the station and afterwards.

I think it is most probable that he was not taken to the station but directly to the hospital. But I hold to the
probability inferred in that sentence in the probable future.....probable.

Yes, Joan H.....hypnosis, brainwashed....really???

I do not make an excuse for these young men. I am simply pointing out the probable reason. The news proclaimed that they were "followers of radical Islam." I think they knew what they were getting into and that nullifies excuse. However, many young people get into self destructive activity. I think we need to at least make an attempt to insure that this or a similar tragedy will not happen again!

They shouldn't waste the hospital's time in treating him. They should let his wounds get infected and let him die. There are other patients more deserving of care than this Checneyan monster.

President Obama undeniably requested that this remaning Boston Marathon bomber be taken alive. From what I saw on the television, in infrared, was a hail of bullits and even at least two explosive hits on the boat. They said that there was an exchange of gunfire. I didn't see an exchange of anything. The suspect left a trail of blood all the way to the boat, and was in no state to take on an army of law enforcment officials Why were the orders of the President ignored? The cops in your country are too quick to fire their guns. If he dies, what then?

If he talks who would believe a word he says? His brother was questioned about extremist beliefs and activity. He lied and now look at all the pain and suffering he caused.

The people that are seeking answers to who or what motivated these monsters need only look to the instruction books of the religion that cannot be named or criticised. Instructions for genocide, treachery and exhortations to terrorise are all contained within.
