Experts have warned that the cheetah, which is already on the endangered species list, is losing its natural habitat fast and does not adapt well to living in wildlife reserves. It's possible it could disappear by 2030, they said.

This is very sad. Every effort should be made to protect the cheetah.

Majestic cat of the wild,
Magnificent one of distinction,
Endangered cat of the Serengeti,
Imperiled to future extinction....

Grand champion sprinter,
Of the African plain,
World's fastest land mammal,
Speed master of the domain.

Flexible spine, to work like a spring,
Slender, lithe, superbly streamlined,
Elegant long legs, a deep chest,
Body built for speed, perfectly designed.

Tawny coat, black rosette-spotted,
Small head, short muzzle, rounded ears,
Notable for beauty and unusual build,
Black streaks on the face resemble tears.

Majestic cat of the wild,
How long will you survive?
Endangered cat of the Serengeti,
How can mankind help you thrive?

Noted. 2030 is seventeen years away: for some that doesn't seem that far off; for others, it seems quite distant in time. Nonetheless, by 2030, those who doubt climate change will doubt no longer. The evidence will be horrifyingly obvious: the extinction rate is going to accelerate.
