"His plea comes as Saudi Arabia’s envoy to Lebanon says his country will begin deporting anyone who “financially supports this party” — referring to Hezbollah — because of its role in the Syrian war. There are tens of thousands of Lebanese citizens working in Saudi Arabia, often sending money home to their families in Lebanon."

Well, yes, they should. But so should Saudi Arabia stop arming the opposition, so should Russia stop arming Assad, and so should WE not start arming the opposition, which will turn those weapons against us should they prevail against Assad. It is horrific what is happening in Syria, more than 90,000 dead in what began as a peaceful protest. Which goes to show how unstable that region is, how much worse things get when western and eastern powers start choosing sides and intervening, when other middle eastern countries do the same. The killing has to stop, there isn't going to be a "winner" here no matter what happens, the country has already lost its soul, its direction and so, so many innocents caught in the cross fire. This is NO way to run a world. It just isn't.

Typical of an Middle Eastern President- don't speak directly to the source, announce it to the wind.

All members of al-qaeda and hezbollah should be executed as traitors. These pseudo-Islamic mujadeen warmongers are the cause of most woes in the Middle East and are good for nothing but fertiliser.

Interesting: The last time I saw support for hezbollah wane, it was because Hezbollah had been blamed for bringing war to Lebanon (after the 2006 fight with Israel). Hezbollah cannot afford to pull out of Syria as that could eliminate its main source of arms, but if the president can properly pin the instability in Lebanon on that militia, he may be able to cut the support within Lebanon upon which it depends. I wish him the best of luck.

Thanks Gene - as for Obama and Israel - they ate antagonistic to any reality that we should never be involved in- fudk them both! - I have used every method to attempt to stave off the empires of the US and Israel, but once these two nations get "excited" - it's like trying to stop an ejaculation!

Highlights the danger of supplying arms to the region / foreign intervention. That would be just throwing petrol on the fire...

It needs Syrians to resolve their own differences round the peace table.

There is a major conflict coming for Israel in the very near future. It is a conflict that will be fought on three fronts: Gaza, Lebanon and Syria. Abbas for example is seen as a moderate. He is not. He has publicly stated that Israel should be pushed into the sea and annihilated. Hezbollah constantly probes the Golan Heights which is necessary for Israel's survival. It is a long standing bone of contention. Then there are all the "freedom fighters" in Syria from around the Muslim world who have sworn allegiance to the CIA created Al Qaeda. Useful idiots but dangerous too. They should realize that once they have served their purpose they will be dealt with too by one means or another. I heard that there is a race specific virus being held for the most propitious time of deployment to decimate these useful idiots. Just a rumor but remember that those Nazi scientists brought to America under Operation Paperclip were very close to such a virus near the end of WW2.
The sad part is that the Elites are funding and arming both sides of the conflict as they did in Darfur and every other created conflict zone: America the rebels and Russia the Assad government. It's all part of their chess game. Iran has long been China's cats paw in the Middle East just as Syria has been Russia's and Israel America's.
Underlying this plan has been the tiny Israeli state which was never intended to be a religious state but a secular one and the center of world banking connecting Cairo with Tel Aviv and Europe. It is a plan based on full spectrum dominance which will divide the world into ten economic controlled centers that have a single global currency. Of course a world government would be nice too.
Can they achieve it? There have been many attempts over the last ninety or so years which have had some success but in the end have failed. The UN which is the longest running one is rife with corruption, collusion, immorality and other unethical practices that the Elites utilize to benefit their long term plans.
Israel should already have troops deployed along the North and Eastern borders. It takes 48 hours to deploy troops to those areas. Be prepared oh little one or suffer the consequences. The Elites want your land mass reduced to 1948 proportions; a secular society involving no religious Jews; an international capital in Jerusalem and a temple that will be for all the world's peoples and religions. There are no peace partners for Israel; only the wolf disguised as a sheep who will sacrifice the rank and file generations of their own kind in order to rid the world of all non Sharia compliant Muslims. Woe unto the people of the earth.
