That's nice. Very Glad to hear the Adminstration has a concern for international wildlife poaching and intends on new proposals to combat it. It would be also be very nice if the Adminstration would stop destroying the integrity of ESA

OK! But....until the problems of human overpopulation and the resulting poverty are solved, wildlife poaching WILL continue.

Really Pam, then why "Under Obama’s initiative, significant new focus will also be placed on regulations here in the United States, which is second only to China as the largest market for illegally trafficked wildlife products." Doesn't seem so much as overpopulation as a problem with the US (do you really think Asia would worry about palm oil if the demand from rich nations wasn't driving it.

I do hope that Obama keeps his word on this and uses his position to work with these nations to get all the poachers and execute them all. I realize the execution part will not happen, do not know why, that is all the creeps deserve. But I do hope Obama can get these countries to finally get really serious before we have no more elephant and Rhino left.

Sounds like a good measure if he can get it into real legislation with bite! There is killing for food by desperate people and killing for vast profits by criminal gangs who couldn't give a damn about the animals~ that's what really needs to be stopped!

Goodness, I will believe it when I see it happen. I want to know where that $$$ will actually go, cause I don't think it will actually help the animals!!! Noted with a skeptical heart!
