Let's see where this goes. The problem, I think, is that the religious political organizations there may be the only ones that can really cut across tribal lines. It may be impossible for another party to really organize in the way the MB did. The only other sort of party of which I am aware that could do stuff like that is the Ba'ath party, the pan-Arabists, but those have really been out of fashion in the Arab world for a long time. Aside from them, there is pretty much just the military

There may be new elections, but any new civilian government may do no better than Morsi.

Thanks cal for the link to the article by Ben Wedeman Reza Sayah and Matt Smith along with the excellent slide show. I do hope this action will bring about an more moderate government and protection for all Egyptians. Read, viewed and noted.
