I find it interesting that Dawn is owned by Proctor and Gamble which is one of the largest companies that have to test ALL of their products on animals, because their products are toxic to humans. Seems like an oxy-morin that Dawn (P & G) is taking credit for saving wildlife, but are killing millions of lab animals because of the toxic products they are selling to consumers.

Dianne I was just going to say the sam thing. It is somewhat ironic and hypocritical. They were helping during the BP oil spill and have done so for other spills as well yet they test in animals. On one hand I want ed to buy it but I don't buy from companies that test. They get a lot of publicity and no one sees the dark side of their company.

Cal-thanks for sharing this...I am in no way trying to be downer here....
but the entire truth about P&G IS important!

I have a (snail mail, of course) letter from P&G...from 1989! Telling me 'WHY' they 'had to' test on animals...sad to say but nothing has changed!
There are many, MANY companies around the world who have NEVER been involved with animal testing; what makes P&G SO different? WHO are they 'in bed' with?
I have boycotted them for YEARS.

Good to know there are some famous people more concerned about issues more important than increasing the size of their own wallets!

Procter & Gamble tests on animals. Google Draize and LD50 and Nalgene lab animal restraints to learn some of the horror. If you care about animals and the environment, use cruelty-free, environmentally-friendly products, such as 7th Generation dish soap. It's disgusting that P&G is using Dawn and the oil spill to promote the company as caring and compassionate. Does Rob Lowe (not familiar with him) know about this?

I am frustrated too, Anne. Some animals may be saved; but many more are used to make money! It's NOT RIGHT.

I hate to rain on your parade but about three years ago I did a post about how Dawn 'saves wildlife.' With some background research from some very inquizitive (sp?) C2 Members, we discovered that Dawn TESTS on wildlife. You know, as in hooking their brains up with electrodes and putting them through hellish tests. I'll find my post so you can see what we discovered. IF Dawn has STOPPED TESTING on ANIMALS, I appologize.

I guess I'll have to shake P&Gs hand with my right hand and slap them upside their collective heads with my other...
Always nice to see celebs getting involved with wildlife and the environment instead of with each other.

Am I being overly optimistic in thinking that if we target P&G for testing on animals and being so two-faced that they have to hire Rob Lowe to promote their company ( not sure if he is aware - he's an intelligent man so he should be ! and if he is, WHY would he participate in this ?!?! - should target him too - !)
Simply put, what the ???? I'll sign .. just send me something!!!!!!!
Green stars to Dianne D., Kate K., Laura H. & Anne K.
By the way, let's all report Jupa Sade who obviously has his/her own agenda and could care less about this post !!!

Good that someone cares. I received an email for IFAW that yesterday we used up this years supply of natural resources and we still have almost 4 and a 1/4 months to go, we are destroying this planet and leaving the next generation with much less. No one in power has the balls to say we need to cut back on population. We can n o longer have families with three and more kids, the earth can not handle it. Animals in the wild when food goes scarce they do not have babies, they know instinctively, but humans seem either too selfish to care or too stupid. But if you want your children to have an earth worth living on, we must address this sooner, the better. And the Religious Conservstives want to do away with abortion rights and planned parent hood. They are insane.

Too bad dawn dish liquid is made by Proctor and Gamble, a company that still insists on testing their products on animals. perhaps. Mr. Lowe can bring this company into the 21st century and explain how household items don't have to be tested on animals any more.

It is ironic that Dawn is a petroleum product. There has to be something better to clean them with.
