Child care costs aren't just crushing parents in New York, where everything is more expensive. They're crushing parents across the country.

My husband and I were just discussing earlier today how fortunate our daughter and son-in-law are that their parents care for their three children while they work. For us, it's a labor of love, but my heart goes out to all the young parents out there who don't have anyone to rely on and who can't afford the high cost of day care. Low wages and the lack of on-site employer-supported day care facilities certainly makes having children and providing them with the quality of life that they deserve very difficult indeed.

SJ.J you seem to be having the same problem as I do; my comments don't register, then they are all repeated!

Not being "rich" most certainly has not stopped anyone but the responsible from having more kids. Far too many keep spitting them out because they either think it's their right to have them, even if they can't support them, or they say it's their religious beliefs (to not practice birth control), they don't believe in abortion, or whatever reason they have for continuing to give birth. Let's see, last I read, the Duggars were still at 20 and holding, but Michelle wants another one. Octomom stopped at 16 (as far as we know) and did she ever support any of her own kids?

Good times are over I believe, resources are more scarce, everything is more expensive.... I don't feel attracted to have any kids to be honest.
