A letter contradicts the State Department's draft environmental assessment of the pipeline, saying animals could suffer lasting damage.

COULD harm wildlife? Sure, like the Valdez spill COULD harm wildlife and the Gulf explosion COULD harm wildlife. I'm sorry TransPacific thinks we are so dumb - and even sorrier that they seem to be right!

Canada has been killing their wolves and other species for some time now, just so the pipeline could go in. One way or another, the government is determined to wipe out every creature on this earth just so the big business and wealthy can earn more money. Humans are next.

Wonder what the Prez and the other agencies will say when word of the environmental disaster taking place right now in Canada...as far as I know there's srtill a press blackout and no environmental people have been let in to assess the damages. And the mess is still spreading, killing land and wildlife in its path towards Quebec. Would like to hear this isn't happening...

Has anyone heard of alternative energies?

Let's just change that c to a w and add "and WILL harm wildlife." Whom do they think they're kidding...perhaps the climate deniers? BIG Fossil Fuel cares not a moment for the planet and its inhabitants other than that humans buy their filthy products. If they cared, long ago they would have been investing some of their massive profits into green energy technologies and we wouldn't be journeying down the dramatic climate change path we presently are on. It boggles the mind...the untold greed that drives the fossil fuel conglomerates.

It COULD harm wildlife? how about it WILL harm wildlife. I am glad they reported that but it doesn't take a rocket scientist, environmental scientist in this case, to figure that out.

But we've been saying this for ages. Not just wildlife but the environment and, ultimately, US. Do the oil barons care? You know they don't. You know as well as I what they care about, and it is definitely not wildlife, the planet, or us.

What part of "NO! WE DON"T NEED OR WANT THIS", does it take for these fools to understand that all of this Keystone XL Project Crap harms everything? Thanks Cal

The Interior Dept. said that the pipeline 'might' harm wildlife.......'might' harm wildlife.
Who is kidding whom?
These pipelines are the start of the beginning to the destruction of wildlife and life, maybe or maybe not, not so wild, as in humans and their property and environment.

I get the fact that we need energy; this fact has not escaped the majority of people. However, if we didn't have the ability to create energy through non-destructive methods, it would be another thing.
This is nothing more than Big Business wanting what they want, and when they want it. The power and money behind them makes them more than formidable competition for our energy needs.

This is not to suggest, that we should not fight them all the way.
Repeating:
'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.'

I believe corporations always get what they want regardless of the damage they do. I believe they put in right places to achieve their goals.

One can only imagine, how serious this situation would become, if we don't keep a Democrat in the White House.

One more quote, please:
'The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy ~ the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.'
John Kenneth Galbraith

I love critters, but harming the wildlife is secondary to the near certainty that it will destroy the Ogalalla Aquifer destroying the water source for tens of millions of people as well as billions of those critters.

All energy companies should be nationalized and operated by and for the people, not corporations.

The GOP screams out about "illegal aliens" and what they are supposedly costing the USA tax payers, yet the Canadian invasion of our LANDS for Canadian fucorporations profits not a peep? I wonder why? Could it be the GOP palms that are getting oiled/greased/bribed? Naw, that would make me a conspiracy theorist. Thank the one American agency that has the courage to justly speak the truth about the damage frucking/fracking will permantely will cause all wildlife and habitat and yes us poor bipeds as well.

What a surprise they came to this conclusion. Perhaps the real surprise is the Interior Department came out with this conclusion and hasn't swept in under the rug. They probably leave that for the GOP to do.
