So much for the politicians "oath of office" ! It's as useless as our own constitution has become. As far as I am concerned the country is being run by lowlife , spineless, greedy , ineffective, trifling, bickering , powerhungry, criminals! Three quarters of them should be arrested and removed from office!

If those jerks can't keep the government open, then none of them should get paid until they get it running again. And they definitely don't deserve those plush insurance and retirement plans that they gave themselves. Let them live with the insurance and retirement that the 99% have. Since our elected representatives have nothing better to do than leech off the body politic and fiddle while the nation suffers, then people need to organize and march on Washington. OCCUPYCongress!

Shameful.

Elections are on their way, and they don't know anything better than this shutdown to make the Teapartiers (who are, as being more extreme, more likely to go voting) vote for THEM. It's not even politics here, it's just trying to keep their well-payed places

(more-)Moderate GOP-voters should take their responsibilities and explain to their representatives that this is not the way the US should be governed.

Meanwhile there are 800 000 government-employees and their families left to themselves with no money.

Wow!, what a way to get America going again!

The GOP Deadbeat Party refuses to pay their bills. Payment due for the Iraq War. Get on it! Cast out these clowns ASAP!

Noted. Well, at least the Senate stood strong on defending the ACA, which was not only passed & signed into law, but survived the SCOTUS test. The GOP has no defense on this whatsoever. Unfortunately, my own member of Congress voted with the House GOP. You should see the comments in a local publication that is ripping him a new one over this, and promising to "primary" him. So, maybe some good will eventually come from this. Cast out the GOP radicals AND the Blue Dog Dems and "New Dems." We must have a large group of Progressive Democrats to win House seats in the next election....as well as Senate seats.

We, the taxpayers, need to stand up and tell these bozos they are Not essential to running anything, especially when they haven't been doing their jobs for these last few Years. No Special Session with overtime when doing nothing during their whole terms so far except take up space and waste time...and should pay us back for not doing their jobs. Let their Big Baddie MegaCorps keep paying them offto do nothing, just like most of those CEOs.

They are terrorists, plain and simple. They say they do crap like this to keep us safe from the baddies who would take food from our children's mouths and hurt us if they could. Guess what? That's exactly what they are doing.

I was talking with someone earlier and I said they probably just did it because someone said they wanted a vacation. They replied to me that they probably just did it to force people to go into debt on their credit cards, (since so many people are so poor right now, not as many people are accruing debt and those nice interest rates the way they used to) and they'll bring it back up as soon as those folks temporarily out of jobs have gone into a bit of debt waiting on those delayed paychecks. Honestly? That made a lot of sense and it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
