I'm all for marijuana legalization, but I worry about "large, government" farms taking over and putting the small growers out of business. When government gets involved, good or bad things could happen. Time will tell though.

As Susan says....TIME WILL TELL.

I don't ever want to see a day when I can't grow a pot plant right next to my other herbs---basil, mint, etc.

Well hell's bells and hooyah! I don't smoke the stuff but I think it's high time we decriminalized it; legalized it; regulated it to eradicate weed seeped in Angel Dust or Formaldehyde; then last but not least - Tax It!

It will come as no surprise when major corporations like Monsanto and/or Big Tobacco move in and start patenting plants and altering genes and adding contaminants. Small, sustainably organic farmers are the way to go.

Doesn't this look like some Mosanto-Big-bussiness-program?

Home-grown is not that bad, and anyway cheaper than legal (and thus taxed) pot.

Noted. Interesting, thanks Cal. So, I guess we will see how that works out in Canada. Although, I too, am suspicious about anything on a massive level. Seems like we ought to let small growers grow without interference, though....since this is a naturally growing "weed." People should be able to "share" what they have....similar to those who sell fruit on the roadside. None of this is going to mean anything until the U.S. takes cannabis off Schedule 1 drug table, though.

This is really interesting. I see it as progress but starting out on such a massive scale....we'll see.

interesting to see what happens....I work with an Md who says that everyone he sees that is on hard drugs, started with marijuana. I foresee more people driving around in a drug induced state.
