Stephanie King uses government vouchers to feed her five-month-old son. Thanks to the government shutdown, that money could soon disappear.

Noted. I see the stock market is still over 15,000 today. A barrel of oil is around $104.00--which is very high. And gold's up $34 in one day. The pigs are at the trough and forcing those with the least to give up the most. I'm beyond disgust. Throw the bums out!

And do the Republicans give a ****? Of course not!

However, I believe that the Democrats share equally in the blame for the shutdown. Neither Democrats nor the GOP give a rat's arse about this country or its citizens. This next election, let's have a serious political bloodbath and vote out as many of the bums as possible! Sure, we'll get mostly new bums - but maybe if we do enough house (and senate) cleaning, they'll finally pay attention to their real masters, WE THE PEOPLE.

Don't forget to sign the daily action petition to suspend Congressional pay during this crisis and if you care about the Constitutionality of that , my petition to amend the 27th Amendment would address it.

That's terrible! I hope this government shutdown doesn't last long and the women and children can get the help they need. Thanks for sharing, Cal.

We have a gov't of elites run by elites and for the continuing profit of the elites. The 1% serve the corporate agenda, and they use teabagger extremism to push through increasingly harsh austerity cuts against survival assistatnce programs. They don't give a damn how many children starve. They don't care how many of the 99% suffer and rot in squalor and hunger and work in unsafe conditions for low wages; they don't care how many people die of preventable illnesses because of lack of health care; they don't care about how toxic the environment is becoming; all they care about is the big party that they are living while the rest of us suffer. How much more are people going to take before the a steady scream of rage rises up in this land and a wave of people start the march on washington to throw those jerks out of their seats, out of their offices, and perhaps even out of windows? These teabag jerks are the lowest of the low and deserve nothing but the peoples' spit.

ONly the ignorant people blame the democrats for this fiasco ! THE reckless and irresponsible decision to shut down the government unless the government stops helping people get health care lies tototally inthe republican's laps. Republican Congressmen Tom Rooney, Dennis Ross, and Vern Buchanan are already backing away from Speaker Boehner and the Tea Party's shutdown. We need to keep the pressure up and force more Republicans to their senses.
