Apart from those imprisoned in a fortress of science denial, 69 percent of Americans give credence to the 95 percent of climate scientists who agree on the reality and trajectory of human-induced climate change.

Thanks Cal...I think that people must have rocks in their heads if they dont agree about human induced climate change, maybe they are in denial because to not be would mean that they have to face up to seeing our planet and everything on it in deadly peril...and who caused it.

Since the middle class has all but been eradicated, that leaves the poor of America to react to climate change...only they're too busy trying to feed their families, usally holding down two jobs, to make ends meet. When do they have time to care about the changing climate - maybe between jobs, between keeping the families together, between trying to pay for outrageous medical bills, trying to raise the extra mouths that the GOPTP have legislated they have to have..?? That's a great barrier to cross, especially when many of the poor are also uneducated and don't really understand the science behind climate change. Then there's the probllem that the only products they can buy are the cheap, usually planet killing products aimed especially to them.

It seems so obvious - it's sad that it takes so many to commit themselves to this cause - for the sake of the future generations - and ours as well, while the weather has wreaked costly havoc on the entire planet. I'm glad these women have made it a point - and to bring it to focus, it is an urgent world problem!

If women ran the world there be less war, a responsible attitude to many things. So it is only right that a group of women are very aware of climate change when Governments all over the world are not. Very good article thank you.

100 women, though prominent women, is but a trickle. May all women of sense who care about future generations and the world that they will inhabit - may they join together and form a flood of opinion and action to save the life on this planet.

The conference was yet another reminder that the U.S. is inextricably bound by multinational Corporations.

Many Corporations appropriate the Earth’s limited resources without real accountability to any Nation, people or law. “They used to be contained by the rules of democracy & they have knocked off those rules—bit by bit”
