In his final stretch, the world's most famous environmentalist is beset by doubts and doubters

"All humans have to do is pay attention to the flashing warning signs." This government does not even acknowledge the warning signs.

Allan i dont think most governments are really paying attention to the warning signs or very few Money is still the number 1 priority and the destruction of everything will happen if the world does not take heed

thanks Cal for presenting this about David Suzuki who is my hero. His legacy I believe is the people he has reached around the world who fight his fight with him. It does not matter that he is unable and does not have the strength to fight as hard as when he was younger. David Suzuki you are heavy your our brother lets us help you while you rest.

I can not believe the vitriol cast in Suzuki's direction, which was reported in the article and from people commenting on the article. David Suzuki and David Attenborough are some of my heroes. It saddens me that they are both growing old and frail. Let us hope that there are others from the younger generation of scientists who will take up the challenge and speak for the environment and for wildlife.

The politics of reason has been replaced by ignorance and combined with the cynical dishonesty of the oil companies. This is the same method of attack that the Tobacco companies used to stiffle debate on the health hazards of smoking even after the researched showed a link with smoking and cancer. The attack on David Attenborough last year about the series about the Artic showed the pettiness of the attacks. All of the attacks against David Suzuki are groundless just to discredit him by insinuation as this is the business tactic of bullying that big business uses now as even if they fall through they will cause damage to his reputation and merely show the whole mentality of the current right wing in Canada that they show a complete inability to see reality. I hope these hateful attacks would stop but with the current mean minded mentality of Conservatives I doubt it.

We need to hear more from people like David Suzuki in Canada and less from the current occupant of 24 Sussex Drive. Canadians deserve much better than our current Crime Minister
