President Barack Obama encouraged the leaders of America's movie and television studios Tuesday to portray gun violence in a way that doesn't encourage people to carry out crimes in real life.

I applaud Obama for this. It's about time someone told the entertainment industry to take some responsibility for making gun crime and all types of violence look so attractive and enjoyable. From actors like Jim Carey who suddenly took a stand against gun crime I thought it was hypocritical when Carey makes millions of $$$$ from his 'funny' violent films. It's not funny at all, is it?!

Actors can choose their film roles and they don't need to accept parts in gratuitous violent movies. They too need to take responsibility for what enters the minds of the nation as do the TV and Movie studios. Well said, President Obama.

Very sensible statement. He may not get the bills through congress, but he can still state his views in public. Hope they pay attention
