Why are we so fixated on 4 million insured people who may lose their current and mostly sub-standard health insurance policies and ignoring the fact that 48 million people who have never had health insurance will finally be able to buy health insurance?

Republicans have kicked up so much dirt about this act that nobody (NOBODY) has a clear idea of what it will do for the vast majority of Americans.

There are legitimate concerns. The young person single and male is not going to need maternity insurance, but might need breast cancer ins(yes males get breast cancer). The government requirements forced cancellations of many insurance policies. The problem is easily solved with single payer.

Universal, single payer health care is what Americans need and what most of them want. Half-measures, such as the ACA, written by industry representatives have expanded coverage, but the system is complex, profits the insurance industry at the expense of the people, and still leaves too many people inadequately covered. We need #MedicareForAll now.

Exactly - we started with nothing. Now we have something - not perfect, not great, but something. It's a START. We all need to stop picking at hairs and start working to improve what is a good start.

The Repuglicans are still mad that they got beat by a black guy. They will never work with him and we have to remove that sentiment from our government! Anything he does is "bad"! They have said it in so many ways, so many times. If he figured out how to get free energy and no pollution, it would be bad.
At least this is a step in the right direction! We need to have healthcare a NON-Political entity! There should not be a republican side or a democratic side. It should be a healthy or not healthy sides!

S & N, thanks for the post. I hope the idiots who put the moronic Tbaggers in Congress have smartened up. What happens to us, happens to them too. We need to work at getting these morons out of our government, or we will just set still until there are enough Dems in there to get us moving again. The Rs are working only about 9 days this month, and even less next month. They don't care about what happens to those whose lives they have put into a shambles. VOTE THEM OUT

Noted and signed. Thanks, Cal. Even MA had problems when they first came out with insurance for everyone. If Congress would get their act together and work on fixing the problems instead of trying to get rid of the ACA, then maybe it would be working better already, instead of still struggling.

The ACA has already crashed and burned. Young Americans and older Americans cannot afford doubling and tripling healthcare premiums. They want their private insurance back.

Obama will go down in history as the most disrespected President in the history of our country. He deserves that designation.

No one should sign this petition in my opinion certainly not if they have been staying current on its failure to launch and after going to the site....who would sign up for another rent or monthly mortgage payment? Pay attention because I believe the American people are in sticker shock ....this is another redistribution of wealth in or country and the middle class is getting screwed by this administration. Pay attention.

Great comment John. From a safety standpoint the ACA is a colossal nightmare as far as identity thief. There was never a thought given to that big elephant in the room.

The day finally arrived for the liberals to face the incompetence of Barack Obama....the position he has placed Americans in by losing their private insurance and NO where to turn ....he needs to be escorted out of our White House.

Diane, A lady, free, called into the Ed show. Her and her husband were paying $530 a month for 90% coverage and a $2,500 deductible. She signed up and got a 90%/$0…that's a $0 deductible, for $300. She had a republican friend, with a pre existing condition, paying $1,100 a month. She helped him sign up and he got the same coverage for $900 less. She said he was in tears with joy.

Don't hand us that garbage. Fox pays people to come on their shows and lie to you. I know this because I saw them on Fox and then MSNBC to admit they lied and saved a ton. You are chalk full to the brim with you know what. I just got bumped to a Plus plan for nothing! Stop coming here to lie to us.

Stay current on the news. The 18 to 24 year olds have sticker shock over the premiums. Even Latinos have backed away from Obama. Obama lied to them. He has been lying since 2007 to get elected. Forget Fox News....go to ANY news website and get current on the facts as they are rolling out.

You are backing a loser. Look at the polls. I see yet another tsunami election in 2014. The American people will decide what is best for them in 2014...just like they did in 2010.

"You are backing a loser. "

Not a big Obama-fan myself, but find Diane, the proverbial pot, calling the kettle black. Diane - NEWSFLASH - Obama won both terms. Further, "President Obama is "the sixth president in history to be elected twice with 51% or more of the popular vote."

If we want to see who actually backed a "loser", we could take that nice stroll down memory lane.

Diane O's Greatest Hits (to be correct, it would have to be non-hits)

Diane O. "Obama will not get a second term. The majority of Americans will vote for Romney in November. Watch the polls. Watch the swing states. The tide has turned." [Mitt Romney's Pregnancy Problem, Wednesday October 24, 2012, 3:07 pm]

Diane O. "What difference does it make, Carrie? Romney will win Ohio and he'll win the presidency. Everyone has made up their mind by now." [In Swing States, Obama Leads on Handling of Medicare, Friday November 2, 2012, 11:29 am]

Diane O. "He can ask for more time from now until the cows come home....but he won't be re-elected.[In Swing States, Obama Leads on Handling of Medicare, Friday November 2, 2012, 12:40 pm]

Diane O. "All Mitt Romney needs is to win the swing states and it looks like he has already accomplished that. You act like this lack of endorsement from a newspaper has cost Mitt Romney the election! It has NO impact on this race.Bit [SIC], thank you for being consistent in posting your desperation threads....threads of no consequence." [The Salt Lake City Tribune Endorsement: Too Many Mitts, Tuesday October 30, 2012, 11:15 am]

Diane O. "Mitt is going to win on Tuesday and I hope it will be by a landslide. I not only want Mitt to win but I want him to buy Obama." [The Salt Lake City Tribune Endorsement: Too Many Mitts, Friday November 2, 2012, 11:24 am]

Diane O. "Suanne [SIC] and Kit, your comments are fueled by desperation. You are frothing at the mouth to find a racist but you failed miserably this time. Your candidate is losing. I hope he loses by a landslide." [The Salt Lake City Tribune Endorsement: Too Many Mitts, Saturday November 3, 2012, 2:57 am]

Diane O. "The majority of Americans are backing Romney. Obama is in serious trouble for re-election and that's a very good thing for our country.", [Moderate Mitt? Don't Believe It! [Friday October 26, 2012, 5:12 am]

Diane O. "They will vote for the person they believe will be a world leader. Look at the polls. Doesn't appear that Obama will be re-elected." [Acute Foreign Policy Disorder,Wednesday October 10, 2012, 2:40 am]

Diane O. "Obama is going down now, along with Hillary, over the Libya situation." [Acute Foreign Policy Disorder, Wednesday October 10, 2012, 4:17 pm]

Diane O. "It is Obama who is having difficulty filling seats. However, none of this really matters. The debates will tell the story." [Univision Anchor: Mitt Romney Made Demands During Miami Appearance, Tuesday September 25, 2012, 2:54 am]

Diane O. "Alice, you could NOT be more wrong. Romney is leading in all of the polls AND he is dead even with Obama in Ohio at the moment. Mitt Romney is also predicted to win this election. Mitt just pulled in $111.8 million in donations! So, be more selective in what you read about politics in the United States. Often times articles promoting Barack Obama are inaccurate."[Romney and the Cherry-Picking of Economic Data, Tuesday October 30, 2012, 11:19 am]

Diane O. "The American people will decide who our next president will be. Romney." [Romney and the Cherry-Picking of Economic Data, Tuesday October 30, 2012, 3:43 pm]

A night out to the comedy club …$55.00

Reading Diane's predictions….Priceless

"The American people will decide what is best for them in 2014...just like they did in 2010. "

Did you forget 2012 perchance? Did you forget the thread after thread after thread claiming the victory for Mitt? As I recall, you also were very quiet for the days following the 2012 election. Did you get a little bit of the crow you were eating caught in your throat?

Suggestion to all who like to wager on elections. Find out who Diane is backing and bet on the opposite.

The GOP-aggers are like manna from heaven. Why bother paying for cable in order to watch John Stewart or Steven Colbert when all you have to do is check out what the latest insanity they are chirping off about. All they have to do is open their gob and a crapstorm of craziness falls out.

In the spirit of Christmas, kindness and good will to all mankind, Fred and Marg are airing a Lies My Country Told Me Special, “Down the Rabbit Hole with the Go-Baggers” on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm EST (1:00 pm Central, 12:00 pm Mountain, 11:00 am Pacific and 3:00 Atlantic). 5 Ways Conservative Politics Promotes Freeloading and Shirking
Valerie Tarico, AlterNet
Corporate conservatives want special rules that let them privatize profits and socialize losses. READ MORE»

The sticker shock comes from stagnant wages that the republicans foster. When are you going to admit that Reaganomics is a horrible idea that oppresses the people? That fostering income inequality causes and holds this depression in place?

Why do I keep asking questions of people that are not allowed to think for themselves?
