In Borneo's Danum Valley -- one of the last, untouched forest reserves in a region ravaged by logging and oil palm cultivation -- a team of international and Malaysian scientists is fighting to preserve an area of stunning biodiversity.

When oh when will humans learn. We cannot destroy, destroy, destroy and expect there to be no consequences.

Let me tell you a funny story about Danum Valley.

There are LEECHES on every leaf of every bush and tree! Even though you ''double sock'' (socks under and over pant legs) you'll still find them in your shoes, your underwear, etc. Do NOT drink tea before you go out for a walk because you MUST NOT drop your pants in that forest! NEVERNEVERNEVER!

When you leave the lodge in Danum Valley......they give you a certificate which says you are a CERTIFIED BLOOD DONOR!

Now...having said that....it IS an almost enchanted place and absolutely one of the last primal forests in Borneo.

I wish no one knew of it's existance. Everything we are aware of is in constant danger of being consumed. We have already consumed far far far too much. It's way past time to start conserving and saving everything we can!
