Fish stinks from the head, which needs to be removed from power! Christ Christie, just like Obama do not belong to any society that respects liberty, justice and human rights...they should go to Muslim dictatorships where such behaviors are the norm.

Both Christie and Obama should be removed from power, where they are destroying American principles as described in the Declaration of Independence and US Constitution.

Why Obama? For doing what the MIC demands?

Christi is a criminal. Let all the chips fall where they will.

Benghazi? These lunatics will stop at absolutely nothing. Whatever happened to "I screwed up, I'm sorry, I will fix this?" Simple, to the point, accepts responsibility and is open about it. The buck stops with Christie regardless who did what. That the republicans are trying to obfuscate, bob and weave their way out of this is just typical. So, what have we learned? We, the people that is. I have learned who Christie really is and I don't want a bully from the playground as my President. Neither, I wager, will the American people. Say goodnight, Chris, your 15 minutes are over.

What I don't undertsand s when I read reports that state: "On approximately 20 occasions in the last forty days, our Borough has been completely gridlocked," wrote Sokolich to Baroni, who was Christie's top official at the Port Authority. "Traveling from the south to the north end of our Borough takes upwards of one hour. Our safety vehicles are unable to traverse our own thoroughfares to attend to emergencies which place our residents in harms way." ( ) How did this "study make anything worse?

That article you refer to, John, was about traffic in 2010, and it showed that under no circumstances should anyone have closed 2 lanes on a bridge that already experienced traffic congestion to a high degree, at the very least not without warning the public and getting total cooperation from emergency personnel and the police department. It was reckless. Their decision, no matter who made it was reckless and irresponsible.

Whoever could not see the arrogance and ego-maniacal attitude of this politician, is not a good judge of character and/or a grasp of the human psyche.

When he denigrated reporters and audience attendees with his put-downs, that should have told people almost all they needed to know. His bullying did not show strength; if fact, it showed a lack there of. He obviously, has a temper and doesn't know how to control it.
I have no sympathy for his wife, because she chooses to stay with him, but I do have compassion for his children.

If he isn't done in politics, he should be, and if voters are incapable of recognizing that, those are the only ones that deserve him.

Thanks Cal for the link to the article by Mr. Volsky. There is no way Gov. Christie wouldn't have known what his aides were doing. These emails and his lame denials just make it more apparent that he did. Read and noted.

One good thing to come out of all this it just shows how far the Republicans and the Teabagger are prepared to go in order to get their own way. This spiteful action inconvenienced thousands of people trying to get to work and cost the state millions of dollars. This comes after the the Republican shutdown of the entire country. Why do American's vote for these idiots ? .One good thing to come out of this is bang goes any chance of Christie ever becoming President.

When someone as rational and level-headed as Chris Hedges calls Christie a thug and compares his term as Governor to Al Capone's reign of crime in Chicago, I think we have a problem. He also likes to bully and degrade female school teachers who ask him why the public school system can't have better funding. At least he's a rude, loud-mouthed jerk openly and publicly- so we can see who he is right away. (Apparently he thinks he has nothing to be embarrassed about),instead of waiting until he's behind closed doors to express his contempt for his constituents, ala Mitt Romney!

John S. The question you pose above does relate back to a letter from 2010. It could be from 2011, 2009, 1990. Doesn't matter this area is a traffic hell on a good day.

Traffic studies, road closures, repairs, broken down vehicles. Really not so unusual and you would think that dealing with a situation like traffic on an almost daily basis that Fort Lee should have instituted some procedures to work around it. I am sure they have.

This is a situation where the traffic doesn't matter. It's really not the issue. The people going after Christie think they got something golden to run with. It is political maneuvering. That's all.

If you people who do not live in NJ think political retribution does not exist, or has not existed from the beginning of politics around here. I got a bridge to sell you real cheap. Not that it is right or I approve of it but at least I am honest enough to see what our past politicians have pulled and gotten away with for a good part. Both sides. This is little in comparison to some activity.

For those of you who love to label Governor Christie a bully. How would you expect someone to deal with some of the biggest bullies around for decades, namely, the NJEA. They are the shining example of bullying and manipulation. Yeah, that poor little wall flower teacher. So innocent and sweet for sure. Probably very much like the one's who yell for you to sit down and shut up when discussing school business and budgets and local BOE meetings. Nice people they are....

Governor Christie is representative of Northern NJ. His speech, his gestures. For those of you who wish to keep comparing it to mafia style. It just shows how very little you all really know about my part of the world here. The references are beyond insulting to people who just by virtue of accent, tone, attitude are labeled as criminals, bullies, tough guys. I think you all would be quite disappointed if you ever actually came here and met us.

I don't know the full details of this event (none of us do) but what I know of Governor Christie, he would never be so stupid to jeopardize it all for Fort Lee. I've been reading through some of these emails and in all honesty it sounds more like a pissing contest between the two sides of the Port Authority, being New York and New Jersey.

I am willing to wait and see what comes of this. There are certainly enough investigations going on at great cost to New Jerseyans. If he orchestrated it and got busted doing it. I guess it's over for him.

I don't think he is that dumb.

I wish you guys were around during past administrations with this anger for the political antics. Many have been far more egregious than this stupid stunt.

I don't need to watch television to know what I am talking about. I live, breathe and am active in this political field daily.

Yeah, if he makes bad judgments affecting his political career, how can we ever trust him with the presidency?..or any GOPer for that matter. He'd be like the US's own Mussolini which is why Faux, Wall Street, corporations and their lobbyists are still in his corner, hoping this will blow over.

"Yeah, if he makes bad judgments affecting his political career, how can we ever trust him with the presidency?"

Fair question for each voter to decide. I think it could and should be posed for others as well.
