Previously signed. Just noticed it says "no one is starving in Australia, one of the most affluent countries in the world" - clearly the writer has no idea what he's talking about, that should not have been put in the petition.

Good point Nimue, which raises an interesting question about the knowledge and motivation of the petition author.

Signed, commented and noted, thanks Cal for posting.

Endangered species should be off the menu for everyone. Generally indigenous Australians have a proud heritage of living harmoniously with their environment. They pride themselves on being the traditional custodians of the land. Some are employed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service and actively work to protect and conserve the environment. Many serve on Aboriginal Land Councils etc. We need to work together to understand this issue and what's at stake, to work toward sustainable solutions and reach an implementable agreement on this particular question. Mutual respect and discussion usually leads to better solutions than unilaterally imposed white government policy which might be perceived as condescending and patronising.

Noted and signed Cal,I would like the killing of all native animals including kangaroos stopped but whether we like it or not these animals are traditional fare for our indigenous people,if the government changes the Native Entitlement Act I can imagine it will receive criticism from the indigenous people and their supporters. The government needs to walk softly.
