Signed, with a certain persnickety prose. Sometimes the lunacy of corporate behavior just gets the better of my language. (Nothing you couldn't show to your mom, however.)

Thanks to all who sign this petition as this is my state and Duke has already said they think they may cause more problems if they try to move this toxic sludge to a safer, lined, container of some sort. I believe they're saying moving the stuff may cause more problems. So, I guess they just want to hold their breath and hope that another one of these things doesn't burst open. And, considering the state government we have now, chances are they won't demand it. The people of this state are being sold down the river by our own governor and legislature who are all being bribed to do the bidding of dirty fossil fuel companies and the like with campaign contributions.

Everytime I post anything about this, I always try to include a special note at the end to my fellow NC residents, reminding them to educate themselves and get rid of our current state government as soon as we can because these are the same idiots moving this state to start fracking and off-shore drilling. I feel like I'm living in a nightmare.

Thanks Cal for posting this petition.

It seems to me that this company is saying it doesn't want to move this toxic waste because it will be dangerous to do so.They should be made to move it and pay a heavy penalty for dumping it there in the first place. These companies have no respect for the people who are affected by this horrible and destructive method of mining gas. They also show a remarkable disregard for the environment and for peoples health.Damn them.

It will take concerned citizens, like those of us on Care2, to force Big Business to behave in a manner that protects our fellow Americans.
The way corporations act, today, is similar to corrupt governments in third world countries.
If the Teapublicans get their way, Big Business will eventually run our government and of course, the people as well.

If anyone out there thinks this is a good idea, I encourage World History 101 should be in their immediate future. One significant thing to remember is, politicians can be voted OUT of office, while corporate leaders can not.
