Student protesters have filled the streets of many Venezuelan cities for the last two weeks to express their dissatisfaction with the socialist government, the deteriorating economy, and the violence that plagues the country.

this is native americans against european whites.
i remember thinking that maduro had real big shoes to fill. i wonder if maduro knew how big the dearly departed shoes really were. chavez held that thing together with magic and illusions. good luck on that one for maduro or whoever else follows. this country is going back into white hands. the native american dream died with chavez.

I'm afraid Justin is right..Chavez was a great man - he helped poor Americans when Bu$h Leaguers wouldn't - but great men die. The CIA & DEA will make sure no great men (or *shudder* Women ) will take the reins.. :( When I tried to access the original story, my anti-virus gave me a blank page..so I do not know what's REALLY going on, and I doubt we can know what's Really going on now.

Thanks for sharing. The key word is freedom. Dictatorial regimes no longer work anywhere in the world.

Where in this world is there no war zone??? Some are being done peacefully, some are not, but the majority of this world is in a sense of denial and desirous of change to equality for everyone except the people holding them down. Freedom is a standard that the world wants and a right/privledge/standard that many country leaders/dictators/tyrants, etc, don't want as they will lose the power of suppression..

I wouldn't be surprised if the US wasn't behind this turmoil in some way; be it through the CIA and DEA as Yvonne said or just wealthy corporate influences. This is just sad.

Regime government is not the answer to any country's problems. Turning on their citizens only leads to more unrest. War zone ….yes…civil war…probably next….unless the government decides to take care of their own, which is not happening now.
