South Sudan is facing a hunger crisis if the world does not act now. Due to a savage war that has displaced hundreds of thousands, food security in South Sudan is teetering on the verge.

Done, thanks. The world KNEW this would happen....the story (very politically-correct) ignores the religious aspect of this war. Muslim North wants resources in the largely-Christian south.

The world can not continue turning a blind eye and cold heart to the horrific suffering which these peoples have been enduring. Could it be that there are no natural resources in Sudan that the wealthier nations are interested in acquiring?

For those who might be interested to learn more about this (Christian-Christian) conflict in South Sudan ... rather Kiir's ethnic Dinkas against Machar's Nuer ... and which ultimately comes down to power grip over oil resources - BBC has a very interesting series of articles as well as The Washington Post.

Let's not forget that the South sits on some 80% of the total oil reserves of Sudan (est. to be above 6 Bio) and although it produces since a number of years it’s viewed as vastly under-explored. The majority of proven reserves are in the Muglad and Melut basin. The country is also rich in natural gas with est. reserves of 3 trillion cubic feet.

It was interesting to see how the Bible and the Qur’an flew in a corner once the South got a share in the oil revenues (that much for “religious conflict”). The provisional Nuba Accord (worked out by Switzerland) got thrown in the corner too as the US opposed it strongly … The conflict flared up again shortly afterwards and led ultimately to the separation of North and South (all in line with the outlined strategy of Rand).

… and as always it’s the people who pay the price for greed and power hunger.
