Like the Toulouse shootings two years ago, the cold-blooded killings at Brussels' Jewish Museum show radical Islam mixing with anti-Semitism to target Jews 70 years after the Nazis' demise.

we can only pray that anti-semtism among the jihadist in europe doesn't become as radical and irrational as on care2.

This is beyond disgusting and despicable.

Thank you, Cal. May this headline serve as an eye-opener to anyone who thinks that Jews live in relative safety anywhere in this world! Please note, however, that not all Muslims support jihad and it is important to recognize that this radical element does not speak for all.

It seems that we can always depend on Justin to make a haughty and intrinsically absurd comment like this.

According to Justin, Jihadists KILLING Jews is now equal to exposing Islamic Jihadism and antisemitism for what it is.

Unfortunately not only is this an utterly stupid comment, but the fluff heads here will probably agree. That's one of the reasons why we are in so much trouble. Morons with messages like this at the top, and the rubber stampers agreeing.

Thank you, Cal, for the article. Very frightening, and only the beginning.

Antisemitism once again raises it's ugly head.what is worrying is the rise of extreme right wing parties all over Europe.

Unstable people tend to find their niche in extremist groups, but often end up going their destructive way. It is terrible when this happens

Life is then dangerous - the children in schools like at Sandy Hook or Stockton, students at places like Isla Vista, , even Seattle yesterday ..... Let someone unstable find access to arms, & anyone can be at risk. It doesn't mean a rise in anti-semitism. (In Stockton, the victims were mainly South Asian kids)

It is horrible.

What is even worse is when people leap at the chance to use the tragic victims as a "proof" of special vulnerability - and hence create & strengthen the fears of one part of the population, pushing them to fear and distrust all those who are not of the same ethnic or religious identity. This is what contributes to racial divides - and further racism.

Evelyn, people rely on trends to make decisions. When they see Nazi and violent Jihad propaganda widely spread in Arab and Islamic countries, they know very well what to expect.

Over 90% of terror acts of today are committed by Muslims. This is not to say that all Muslims are terrorists, but this is not to say to ignore that fact either.

Israeli daily Haaretz published an analysis on the shooting titled “The Brussels Jewish museum shooting: score-settling or coincidence?”
haaretz, 26.05.14

"In Brussels whodunnit, Netanyahu irresponsibly claims anti-Zionist, anti-Semitic motive." May 30, 2014, mondoweiss

"The State Department briefing on Wednesday led off with a condemnation of the killings, but Jen Psaki was careful not to say explicitly that they were anti-Semitic."

"Here’s what’s known about the Israeli couple:

Israeli media reports said the Rivas were accountants formerly in government service. Emmanuel Riva worked for an official agency called Nativ, which dealt with the emigration of Jews from the former Soviet Union. Mira Riva was employed by the prime minister’s office – often a euphemism for the Mossad and Shin Bet secret services. Both had been posted to Israel’s embassy in Berlin."

"The United States strongly condemns Saturday’s deadly attack at the Jewish Museum in Brussels. We express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. There is never any justification for these hateful attacks against innocent civilians, nor for prejudice against the Jewish people or the state of Israel."
May 30, 2014, mondoweiss

"An Israeli official said Emmanuel Riva had formerly worked for Nativ, a government agency that played a covert role in fostering Jewish immigration from the former Soviet Union.

Along with the Mossad and Shin Bet intelligence services, the agency was under the authority of the prime minister's office.

Miriam Riva also formerly worked for the prime minister's office, the official said without elaborating."

This killing and the hatred behind it has to stop. There is only one race, with different ethnicities. We are all human, and all have to care for one another and the planet we live on.

Thanks for this balanced comment, Evelyn, and Jess for shedding some more light on this terrible incident.

There are two things that get me wondering: the Europeans have unfortunately proven to the extreme that they don't need any Jihadist to live out their anti-Semitism. How come that anti-Semitic attacks in Europe (which are not committed by Muslims) don't make international headlines?

Why does nobody stop and question why the US Gov and the EU is actively supporting these Jihadists in Syria and elsewhere (see Lybia, Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc.)? I call these bearded guys who use their religion as a pretext to kill simply murderers as that's what they are in my eyes ... but it's interesting that the US who fights officially "the war on terror" ... supports actively with money, training and weapons (and at times a bit more) exactly these murderers?

But until people ask these questions and demand answers ... let's shred this guy and what he seemingly "stands" for ...
