Major companies like Krispy Kreme, Tm Horton's, Dunkin Donuts fry their doughnuts in palm oil, a commodity obtained by cutttng down rainforests. That deforestation is destroying the habitats of orangutans, tigers and other threatened species.

God, to think of the damage done for the sake of donuts alone. I cannot think of the appropriate word here, I don't think there is one. Thanks, Cal!

They need to stop using palm oil, so I can eat them again. No more donuts from them, until this is fixed.

Palm oil is in so many foods now. I read labels and it is so hard to avoid, but I try.

Money is the root of all evil as is palm oil. It is really beyond comprehension what destruction and havoc man is willing to commit in the name of the almighty dollar. The point is they do not care. It is up to each one of us to boycott each product containing this poison that causes so much pain.

This was a very good, in depth report. I . The good news, I suppose, is that donuts are sort of losing their cache - many Krispy Kreme stores, for example, have shut down. The downside is that these 3 conglomerates dealing in deforestation Palm Oil are so unscrupulous.

I have no favorite donut chains. They are all on the same level with their fatty donuts and other crap they sell. Dunkin Donuts still uses styrofoam and I imagine there are others that do as well so no favorites for me plus they aren't vegan so I can't era them.Of course there is the main issue of p;lam oil and I don't buy foods that have that evil product in them.

There is NO reason at all to use palm oil! Soybean oil and other oils can be used for frying- palm oil is used because it is CHEAP! Environmental destruction, pollution from burning tree stumps, dying orangutans- who cares, as long as the companies' profit margins are improved with cheap palm oil...

The enormous demand for palm oil does brutal damage to rainforests. Palm oil doesn't sound like a very healthy thing to be eating, anyway. We should find an alternative that does less damage to the planet.

I like a donut once in awhile, and Tim Horton's does sell other items besides donuts. Pressure needs to be put on them so they correct this problem and do the right thing.

Jumping on Donut Chains is like using firecrackers to enter Fort Knox. Palm Oil, because it is cheap, is now used in millins or products and is nearly imposible to eat without ingesting Palm Oil. Unlike OLIVE OIL I don't think Palm Oil has the heart healthy benefits of Olive Oil,
