The GBR is a great wonder of the world and should be given as much protection as needed. It will be a great loss to Australia's tourist trade if it disappears. The Abbot government is becoming as destructive as the Japanese government.

Thanks for the article Cal.......both our major parties had similar policies in place for the mining sector in Queensland.........there is very little difference between them...although I have to admit Tony Burke (Labor) did return emails and did fight hard to have some protections in place (marine reserves) ...unlike the present Government.... Thank you Alfred "The Abbot government is becoming as destructive as the Japanese government." No that is not the case..The Japanese are American is South Korea.. Australia is allies with the the Americans so in turn we are allies with their allies..we are also allies with Britain, Canada and New Zealand...the US wants to prove that they are a "bigger" power/alley in the Pacific than the Chinese so it is an economic "super power" struggle that is taking place......and other nations "flex their muscles" as well Vietnam , Philippines bolster the US cause.....we are sitting on a time bomb.......fortunately the Chinese have shown great restraint..but all the Politicians agree...that it will only take "an accident" in the South or East China Sea for it to all blow up.........lots of Naval vessels/military might out there from all sides.....
