Indonesia must be one of the worse places on our planet for environmental destruction. It is so clear by the way they treat the Orangutan's,they either hack them to death or (as happened recently) they burn them alive if they cannot capture them to make way for this cursed oil. The politicians and business community of this country are a bunch of greedy, irresponsible, corrupt people. No one is ever charged with abuse of animals they could not give a damn that is the truth of the matter.I hope that in the very near future the industries that use palm oil find a cheaper alternative. Then they will be stuck with their precious useless gold liquid and useless land .I hope that for the crimes they have committed they all starve to death. Evil BASTARDS it would serve you right.

Noted, disgustedly. Why doesn't Indonesia just plant coconut trees for oil, and use the palm plantations and rainforest (and the Orangutan's that live in them!) for ecotourism???? Sheesh!

PLEASE BOYCOTT PALM OIL! Nutella, Hershey's chocolate spreads, "Natural no-stir" peanut butter, instant ramen, International Delight coffee creamer, "yogurt" covered snacks, most brands of microwave popcorn and margarine- all contain palm oil!

Palm oil is so insidious as it's in so many products and hard to avoid. I only use vegetarian skin products without petrochemicals or synthetic fragrances; finally found some only to realise once home that it was palm oil based and had to return it...what did Kermit say? It's not easy being green.

#InYourPalm - yet another piece of wild habitat that is under pressure from the illegal palm oil industry. Companies such as Pepsico use very large amounts of palm oil each year and there has been a concerted effort by RAN (Rainforest Action Network) and SumofUs to bring pressure to bear on PepsiCo directly in order to 'encourage' them to change their ways. Check out these two organisations to see how you can help take the fight to the biggest users of palm oil. Click here to check out RAN http://www.ran.org/

Until companies like Lays stop using palm oil, Indonesia's destruction will continue. Is anyone reading the labels of the products they buy? Check them out some time. You'd be amazed at how much sitting on our grocery shelves contains palm oil. Just buy a different brand, even if it's not your favorite. Do something good for the planet by overcoming your desires for the good of the planet. You may even discover a new brand, eco-friendly, that you like better. A win-win. For you and more importantly for the planet.
