Although he was killed by Islamic State militants, Jim's quest to chronicle modern war lives on through his selfless journalism.

"Jim cared deeply about the victims of war, and the rights of people living under oppressive regimes. He was an old-school reporter, who traveled light, talked to the locals and put the story first."

I admire his bravery and his work. I object to categorizing this as a "killing", it was not, it was first degree premeditated murder. Calling it anything else legitimizes these savages as combatants. They are not. They are cowards who hide behind masks while they murder men, women and children. Who wish to take the entire world back to the Dark Ages using 21st century weaponry and savagery unparalleled anywhere in the animal kingdom apart from mankind. Not humankind, this is mankind's legacy and it is time it end. Men are beasts and have never been anything else. It is time they be swept out of power everywhere, lest our world perish as maybe it should if it is willing to tolerate this level of murderous discord.

There are 12,000 of these beasts running around Iraq right now. And other reporters at risk of being murdered as these will turn on anyone anytime. I don't understand how the entire Iraqi army and the Kurdish army can't just go find their camps and deal with them. Or how 12,000 men can be allowed to terrorize an entire region of the world.

Thanks 4 the clips Cal. I feel so bad 4 his family+friends. A real shame the beastly act has been viewed millions of times now---that surely must be very painful 4 the family.

.Anyone who sides with these middle east countries is a fool.
Sep 11, 2011 ... It's amazing, but no surprise, that–ten years after the 9/11/2001 they were celebrating our loss in several middle eastern countries. ... Palestinians Complain Israel Is Attacking Them, But Celebrated 3000 US Dead On 9-11.
a Sept. 11th cake, complete with an outline of Osama bin Laden’s face, a model plane, and “Happy 911” candles. The superimposed text, according to MEMRI, reads: “Woe to America and its people / I could almost see Al-Qaeda getting prepared / For a day similar to that Tuesday when / We spilled the disbelievers’ blood.” This is not, apparently, the only cake in this genre -- a photo circulating on Twitter, hashtagged with the names of several Middle Eastern countries, shows a similar creation.

So horrible and sad. May he find peace and I hope we never forget his accomplishments. May his family find comfort and peace in their cherished memories of him.

I wish people and the media would stop referring to such killings as an execution why not call a spade a spade and refer to it as what it is murder .
