Who elected the Supreme Court?

Oh right, they were appointed, many of the by an oil company executive and his cronies.

Ant that bunch of clowns are up to their old tomfoolery again.

Sheer Supremacy

No in November!

I WOULDNT EXPECT ANYTHING DIFFERENT FROM BIG OIL COMPANIES AND THERE MISUSE OF THE COURTS,THEY SHOULD HAVE THERE OPERATING LICENSE SUSPENDED UNTIL THEY CLEAN UP THERE MESSES AND PAY THERE RESTITUTION THEY WERE ORDERED TO PAY ALMOST 20 YEARS AGO,STOP GIVING OIL COMPANIES EXEMPTIONS FROM THERE RESPONSIBILITIES.

Supreme Court Hands Exxon $2 Billion... and Progressives an Opening

At
a time when gas prices and oil company profits are record highs, the
U.S. Supreme Court has taken $2 billion from 32,000 Americans who lost
their livelihood in the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

Blue, did you read the article "Sheer Supremacy," that I linked in my comment above? The article you just linked is nuts -- it seems to think that by giving more power to the same people who confirmed these clowns, it might influence them to appoint better clowns.

The Supreme Court is an unelected body, it is therefore not consistent with government of the people, by the people, and for the people, and it needs to be abolished.

Unless, of course, "progressives" prefer tyranny to democracy. Some people who call themselves progressives actually do.

This news has absolutely enraged me. The decision is unconscionable and displays an unrivaled hubris. Something HAS to be done to stop these tyrants from their continued panoply of unmitigated greed at the expense of all earth's living creatures. How dare they slap those people in the face that way? How dare they display such utter disregard for the planet where they live and it's non-human inhabitants?
The time is ripe for people to start being serious about saying NO to petroleum products. Do everything you can to reduce or stop your consumption of oil and please PLEASE write your representatives and senators about this utter travesty.

Michelley, you might enjoy this little essay:

Put a Sock In It

But of course if you think that it is possible to stop tyrants by writing to them (Mahatma Gandhi once wrote to Hitler, thinking it might be effective), why not write to the clowns themselves instead of to the unaccountable a$$holes who confirmed them?

Why are we still using oil? At the turn of the (last century) there were three cars, electric, fuel and steam. What is wrong with steam or electric?

Noted! I don't use ExxonMobil or Shell gas. In fact, I don't use any gas at all. I parked my car and I go with my husband and we do errands all in the same area. We are both getting mountain bikes to cut down on gas and we have a great mass transit system.

Standing ovation for Elle! THAT is taking matters into your own hands instead of waiting for government to do something (since they probably won't or else they'll just make things worse). If everyone would only be that sensible, the we wouldn't need foreign oil. Or a corrupt government. See a problem, do something about it.

But many people can't act in the their own best interest like you and your husband Elle. When gas prices go through the roof, they write their representative and ask them to please do something about it. And they get back a nice form letter saying, "I feel your pain, thank you for your support, and I promise to take your suggestion into consideration so that I can try to convince my colleagues to think about the possibility of perhaps drafting some legislation the oil companies might not object to and the Supreme Court might not strike down, to provide some sort of relief to my constituents by 2018 at the very latest. Please contact my office if you have any further questions or concerns." ROFLMAO

big corporations always getaway with things, all it takes is having friends in high places.
