I Have been using soap nuts for a while and they do an excellent job. I also add essential oils if I want the washing to smell nice as they are not fragranced.
It is really amazing that this has been around forever while the world has been using toxic laundry powders we could have been using a sustainable eco friendly wash option!

HI Denise,
You are lucky in the UK as they are so much more widely available and accepted.
I think that is one of the best things with the soap nuts, they really do help with eczema and all sorts of allergies. The soap nuts are wonderful to use on baby clothes too.
Look forward to the day that they are available in supermarkets!

Hi Nona,
It is amazing isn't it, other cultures have been using them for centuries! We love them.
This I believe is the link for the American seller maggies soap nuts, she also sells them through the other two links below, you will need to copy and paste the address below to access them

Where can you get them in the North East? I live in Pennsylvania, and If I can get my hands on them, that's what I will be using for our laundery! This is great! :-)

Hi Nona, I jsut realised that you had asked about where to get the tree. I am not sure but if you ask your local nursery ( I hope that is what you call a plant shop in the US, that is what we call them in Australia) they should be able to get it in for you.
Here is the link on wkipedia which explains what they are and this should help you in locating the tree.

If you find one let us know how it all goes and what advice the plant shop has
