GALVESTON -- A man accused of capital murder in the slaying of 2-year-old Riley Ann Sawyers placed her body in a bathtub, covered her with a purple towel and shut the shower curtain so her mother couldn't see her dead child, according to a search warrant

One tiny baby girl against two monsters. She didn't stand a chance of defending herself. How she must have wondered why she was being hurt so badly. How unloved, and afraid, her few last hours on earth must have been. The man may have done the most harm but I spit on the mother. A real mother would fight heaven and hell for her child. I hope they are haunted every waking moment by the torment they put her through. This case has touched me very deeply as all child abuse does. RIP Riley.
