In more than 7,000 cities and towns across the planet, millions of residents are turning off their lights for an hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. local time to show their environmental concern. Here are some photos of "Earth Hour" observances.

Earth hour can be celebrated everyday, in so many ways. How amazing to celebrate something so important by everyone on our planet.

Earth Hour photo's
This is really cool... seeing people celebrating Earth Hour around the world in so many different ways!

With all the negativity we see and hear in the news every day, I really appreciated taking a 'time out' to just enoy ...

WWF’s Earth Hour starts in Samoa

In the first time zone to switch off on 23 March, Samoa, New Zealand, Fiji and Australia have already launched their Earth Hour celebrations in style: 200 cyclists, using only energy efficient lights, took to the streets of Fiji’s Suva City, while Sydney’s Opera House (in the original birthplace of Earth Hour) went green for the night, symbolising this year’s focus on converting to renewable energy.

In other exciting Earth Hour news, did you hear that the world’s top footballer, Barcelona’s Lionel ‘Leo’ Messi, has added his support and said he’ll be switching off his lights tonight… And for the first time ever, the lights at Moscow’s famous Kremlin and Red Square will go out for WWF’s Earth Hour, at the personal request of Russia’s President Putin.
