Bush talks all that crap to build the bridge. He just talk and know game. Those people have to make another route to go as the other bridge. That bridge has been some problems for sometimes. That long river starts from the state of Miss. That is a long river. I pray for those victims. It is hard to find the bodies. Those bodies probably have drifted. Some of the bodies are probably down the river. It is difficult to search. As long as they keep searching something will come through.

Our Republicon governor just vetoed a transportation bill this spring to finance highway infrastructure spending. He was elected by less than 50% of vote due to a three way race in 2000. A big part of his appeal was a vow for "no new taxes" which he has kept to the detriment of our whole state. Until this happened he ruled out a special session. He's probably feeling a bit stressed as the Republicon National Convention is supposed to be in Minneapolis in '08.

From the article: Minnesota's legislative leaders began putting lawmakers on standby for a post-Labor Day special session. Pawlenty, in a huge political concession, announced he is willing to reverse his longstanding opposition to a state gas tax increase.

Pawlenty said that he hopes lawmakers will agree to his ideas for funding road and bridge repairs but that details had not yet been worked out. The state's gas tax has stood at 20 cents per gallon since 1988.
