I hate the way the media latch on to such agonising. Granted - people should realise that the lies of those such as the WST writer who claimed Palestinian mothers take pride in deaths of their children have to be countered - but these families whose sons were just playing on the beach when they were killed by fire from the Israeli navy ... their suffering should be respected, not used by the media.
These kids were playing on the beach - the naval vessel could see they were no threat to anyone, yet they killed them. And no doubt the hasbara supporters will claim that they were terrorists .... or that terrorists were using them as shields. This is the kind of event that the Israeli extremists cheer ... And also the kind of event that triggers such anger that it pushes people into aggression towards Israel.

Watching news reports about this incident yesterday ~ the female journalist had photos of the boys playing on the beach ~ and then running from the explosions. She said it appeared the shells were targeting the boys as they ran to an empty nearby beach shack. She also said that she had been at that location for several days and there was no Hamas activity there ~ nor was there any type of secondary explosion from the shack to indicate any weapons were stored there. What is wrong with the world when they allow Israel to commit these horrendous acts of aggression and cruelty with no consequences?

This actually was shown on TV. I was surprised. I recall during the Vietnam War they showed the actual bodies and carnage and that helped right quick to end the war. Now we are mostly shown the long distant views of the wars.
This is the FACE of war. None of us should ever forget that. No matter who started it, no matter who we think is at fault, all issues and problems need to be figured out over the table not in the homes of women and their children.

Israel could not have kept the "occupation" going for all these years, and they would not be committing this massacre now, if they didn't have the complicit support of the U.S. government in everything they do. People in the U.S. need to understand what all the propaganda that they here on the mainstream media is really covering up, because in our silence we are complicit in the murders too. The report I read said that journalists staying at a nearby hotel watched the whole scene. After the first shell was fired at the beach, the children went running by the hotel, waving their arms and shouting at the journalists. Then, a second shell was fired, which killed the boys, as if they targeted the children and followed their path. They were clearly children, even from that distance, said another man. Imagine being trapped, with nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and watching your children being slaughtered everyday. This is what the people of Palestine face everyday. And our President makes public speeches condoning Israel's actions...

I, as millions around the world are sick because of the crimes of Zionists against Palestinians not only in Gaza but all over Palestine from the Mediterranean to river Jordan.. The crime continues but the criminal must not be set free. The criminal must be accused of crimes against humanity, brought to the International Crimes Court ( ICC ) .I came by an article in Haaretz, the Israeli newspaper, written by Abeer Ayyoub on July 11,2014. She describes the horror Palestinians are facing. As Haaretz doesn't allow readers online to see the full story for free,I'll post it all here although I disagree in part with what she wrote about Arabs support to Gaza.
Here is the full text and the link:
Gaza diary: Israelis are completely misled about what's going on
I havenít slept for a second as the explosions have surrounded our home, yet the international community seems to be paying no attention to us.

GAZA - Enjoying the relatively calm hours in the early morning following a noisy sleepless night, everyone in the house was sleeping when my brother, who lives in the same building, came to wake us. He told us that our neighbor got a phone call from the IDF asking him to evacuate his house, which was about to be bombed. Our neighborís house is only couple of meters away; getting ready for the closest bombardment yet was so traumatizing.
My mother opened all the windows so the strike wouldn't break them; broken glass is usually the main cause of injuries in such cases. The 20 members of my extended family gathered in the living room waiting for the awful event. Taking care of the children who didnít know what was going on was the hardest challenge. As I write this, a couple of hours have passed since the call, and we are still, surprisingly, waiting for the strike so we can get rid of the massive panic everyone at home is suffering.
Last night wasnít like any other night. The extremely noisy drones havenít stopped circling the sky of Gaza for a second, F16s havenít stopped targeting for a single hour, and the gunboats continued to shell the area near the beach for the whole night.
I could not sleep for a second as the explosions were surrounding us; in the besieged coastal enclave, the furthest point in Gaza is still close by, as the territory is so small. I was following the news on social media, TV and radio channels. For the whole night, the rockets were targeting buildings with tens of people sleeping inside. Nothing changed from one area to another, except for the family names.
Curiously, I was looking for Israeli spokesperson interviews online to see how they connected the announced goals of Operation Protective Edge, stopping the rockets from Gaza and damaging the infrastructure of Hamas, and killing dozens of children and other innocent civilians while sleeping. I watched an interview with IDF spokesman Avichay Adrey on one of the Arabic channels, and I was totally surprised by him talking about the success of the operation so far.
I donít know what success Israel is talking about when most of the 86 people killed (through early Thursday) were children and women. What was more surprising, and even more rude, was that Adrey justified the IDF shelling on civilian homes by saying that the army usually hit the house with a warning shot before it starts damaging the house. I donít know how an army that warns people by shooting them can respect itself.
Through social media, I could know that most of the Israelis are totally misled about whatís going on in Gaza. My Israeli followers on Twitter keep telling me that I should move away from Hamas if I want to stay alive, as Hamas is a monster that lives somewhere here. In contrast, I could always understand how it feels for an Israeli child to be killed. I never excluded humanity from how I look at the Israeli-Palestinian scene.
After dozens of houses were demolished, I started to feel real danger; my siblings did, too. Israel always claimed that civilians are only hurt when they are near areas where Palestinian fighters fire rockets, yet this narrative is not acceptable anymore. I think that Israel is trying to place more pressure on Hamas to seek a cease-fire by killing more civilians.
Visiting the main hospital in the central Gaza Strip, I could zoom in on the Israeli craziness more and more. Injured babies, burnt flesh and children who still donít know they lost their parents and siblings are everywhere in the hospital. Much worse, I am told that the hospital has run through over 35 percent of its medicine and 55 percent of its medical supplies. Surprisingly, yet maybe not, none of the Arab or international countries around seem to be paying attention to whatís happening to the 1.8 million-plus human beings living in Gaza.
Being left under crazy rockets, the lack of regional and international support and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' disappointing attitude is leaving people here hopeless and desperate. I now know why Israel is violating international human rights laws, because no one in the world dares to cast a veto on its actions.

My dear friend Sheryl .Things have been on the table for at least 47 years. Israel never presented even ONE peace initiative. All peace initiatives came from the Arab side. All were refused by the Zionist entity. John Kerry had spent months shuttling to the Middle East and Washington DC just to convince Zionists to agree to a frame for peace negotiations but he failed. Zionists never presented a map for Israel even to USA when Obama administration asked for it. Israel doesn't want peace negotiations to achieve peace. Israelis, under Netanyahu want to start negotiations as they say but to gain time to change demographic facts for their own interest by stealing more Palestinians land and building more and more settlements. Israel wants to expand till the edge of EARTH . THIS IS A FACT. If the world doesn't open its eyes and see the truth,Israel is going to start world war 3 if it didn't start it yet. Where is Camp David frame that President Sadat signed with Menachem begin about the future of the Palestinians land in 1978/1979 ? Where is Oslo agreement which was signed by Arafat and Izaak Rabin in the early 1990"s which said that a final agreement should be reached in 5 years?
ISRAEL DOESN'T WANT PEACE. If a peace agreement is reached Israel may loose the $ 3 Billions given to it by USA annually.

My thought is showing this personal suffering humanizes these deaths. They are not just numbers they are people and in this case a child small enough his mother can carry him easily. My hope is for peace. Stop saying the other side does not want peace and start cooperating to bring peace.

Thank you once again Abdessalam for your valuable input......"ISRAEL DOESN'T WANT PEACE" but it does want a kind of "PIECE" it wants the rest of the land. I often question the thinking of the Zionists...once they have achieved this and rid themselves of the majority of the People of Palestine...what next????? Do they really think that they will get the support and aide from the International community......now that the elusive "Peace Process" is over....like they did before..? I don't think so...could be wrong..... They fear that Iran will get nuclear capabilities before them.......I wonder why??

Ros G. wrote " They fear that Iran will get nuclear capabilities before them.......I wonder why??"
They already have an arsenal of nuclear war heads. The Israeli man involved in this program unveiled the secret. He was prisoned for many years and now he is still prisoned at his house.

Shirly Townsend wrote " Stop saying the other side does not want peace and start cooperating to bring peace."
Sorry Shirly . I will continue saying " Israel doesn't want peace untill you tell me why you think Israel wants peace. What Zionists are doing to the Palestinian people even before 1948 and till this moment tells us the whole story.Genocide is the true policy of Israel. It is a policy and a plan to kick Palestinians out of Gaza to Egypt and from the west bank to Jordan in few years. They will then expand again to Iraq in the east the to Euphrates river the River Nile in Egypt in the west. These are the two blue lines on their falg and David star to control that Empire .
Israel crimes will never make peace, they scare people and make them angry. They create hatred not peace.
