It is all worening by the hour it seems. How much radiation can they handle before someone says...shut them all down and now. Those blowing are a good reason to begin that effort I think. No more nuclear plants period. Enough of that kind of corporate insanity. These people have no idea as to what is going to happen to them health wise now for certain. Have the warnngs come too late ? It's all just so tragic and it could happen anywhere there are nuclear plants operating today.

WIll staying in doors really help I wonder ,....I hope so but it seems like this is just the beginning, to me, as to what they will need to do to protect themselves from as much of the radiation as possible....if anything is possible now that they have been exposed. Governments and Corporate nuclear folks will lie to the very end as to how much has already been released into the atmosphere ..the expected effects on it to all life exposed to it and they will be slow in helping people escape...even if that were now possible.

Just tell us what we want to hear. Take a shower, keep the windows closed, take some iodine pills and you'll be fine. huh, About that leukemia you'll get in 10 years? Nah, not related. We are all suckers. There is no way to be safe and not one thing about nuclear energy is safe or clean. Profits for the few, paid for by the blood of the many. Can we finally begin the revolution?

I agree with Jae. No more nuclear power! How many more of these incidents will have to happen before people open their eyes and see that nuclea power is DANGEROUS?!!

kit B. ..I think it's past time for the revolution to begin but to start it now will do... and it is what has to be done if the people are to survive their Corporate greed and madness at the expense of the people the world over order for a few to profit..

It's good to see that a few have at least started to think differently when it comes to nuclear power in their countries Naoko...[ref. the link you posted above] and the U.S. should lead the way to there being no more of these nuclear time bombs waiting to go off in our back yards for the sake of the greedy few. Our President must wake up and take action to stop funding...and help with the 'cost cuts' needed in our national budget at the same time by ending it for those in the U.S. and do so NOW .

We need to help the Japanese in anyway we can. How many times in one life can those people be nuked ?

I think we need to petition the fedral government for funding to start our revolution. I will fill out the application because I am female and I should get preference. A female Vet of color would have a better chance of receiving funding for the revolution from our government. They can't just fund banks, oil, gas, airlines, halliburton and not fund us. We will incorporate too so there won't be a tax burden either. On a roll.

I've been listening to other experts that state that the children and pregnant women should be removed as it affects them more. Will we learn from this, nor did we learn from Chernobyl, no, our Lobbyist have already run to Washington to put the "Nuclear Power is a great thing" into the ears of Washington, I'm sure they came with a few briefcases of money as well and promises to help the Official on their next campaign election.

Is why we need to change the way our elections are run, so money isn't a factor. Free air time, news print time for all Candidates, equal amount of time......done, finished, over, study, then elect the person of choice. No ads by Corporations, just all get the same time to air their platform and done. Lobbyist should be banned from Washington and State Capitals.

Special Interests have ruled our Country and they have only their "special interests" in mind at the expense of anyone, land, animals, food, or people. We have other cleaner, safer technologies, and nuclear isn't one of them.

I am praying daily for those 50 individuals that were left behind to handle this monumental disaster as they are giving their very lives to try to deal with this and they themselves have lost their homes, their family members, and yet now they are working round the clock on this, and most likely will die from this, their being there is too close, too long, and no one is helping them. What they were paid, worth their lives?

The Nuclear Industry can put whatever spin on this they want.......nuclear around the world in all forms must end. Thanks Alice for the petition, I hope everyone will sign.

very scary things are happening to Japan....i guess they are getting all this treatment from mother nature because they killed all those innocent Japanese dolphins.....what comes around goes around just like karma....maybe they'll know better to treat animals better and maybe these disasters wouldnt have happened.

This is really unfair for the ones living within close distance to the nuclear plants . I hope the situation does not get any worse.

They must be provided with safe housing and shelter elsewhere and evacuation must be done .

They [Japan] had been warned that this plant could be on the brink of problems three years ago and they did nothing...All this on top of the earthquake/tusmani people are still in shock and need guidence wait is going to cost a whole lot more lives from the way it's looking today. Tell them to stay indoors is not going to help, they need to evacuate a larger area and do so quickly.

It's only a matter of time before we're all stocking up on plastic tarp and duct tape and MRE's. What will we really do when this poison has covered the planet? What is it about human DNA that seems to propel us towards extinction?
