wow watched the whole 9:59 minutes Cher? you're fast hehe,just posted this :)

With over 700 Marine mammal violations recorded against Canada by International observers to date, the largest mass slaughter of arctic seals continues unabated on a yearly basis and is fueled by greed and contempt for the International community. One million seals have been slaughtered over the past 3 years and we need to STOP this barbaric and senseless ritual ! ! !

I have apart from petitions etc., written to the Prime Minister several times in disgust!

Great work Claudia, keep up the amazing awareness campaign and everyone else....Please make the extra effort to contact your elected representatives personally and demand that the slaughter of all marine mammals be stopped. Iceland is picking up the harpoon again for whales. Do not give them a free pass. Our countries did not give up whaling to build up the whale populations so Iceland and Japan could start commercial whaling again.

Shame on the Canadian Government who still allows this hunt.But the majority of the Canadian citizens are AGAINST the seal hunt,but their own government doesn't listen to them,so don't blame the Canadian people for this hunt

I'm Canadian and I'm against the commercial seal hunt.
Why does it go on? Because it's a stupid tradition for one thing. I'm sure a lot of these 'sealers' are fishermen the rest of the year. They were also against the ban on cod fishing even when the entire cod fishery collapsed after 400 years of overfishing and human mismanagement.

Personally, it's the defencelessness of the seals that gets me. I can't see how a man can just walk up to an animal in this situation and go through with it. Sort of incomprehensible. It tells a lot about the individual doing it.

Noted! Ik kijk maar niet Claudia, dan zakt de moed mij voor de zoveelste keer in de schoenen. Na het tekenen van ontelbare petities en deelname aan even zoveel andere acties kan ik niet meer geloven dat er binnenkort een positieve verandering zal plaats vinden. Wat een barbaren die Canadezen. Je mag jezelf geen geciviliceerd land noemen als je zoiets, om wat voor redenen dan ook, toelaat. Altijd maar die belachelijke smoesjes, we leven toch niet meer in de middeleeuwen? We zijn toch allang niet meer met dierenvellen behangen? Of is dit nog niet tot de Canadezen doorgedrongen? Na de halve wereldzeeën al leeggevist te hebben komen ze ook nog eens met zulke afschuwelijke moordpartijen op onschuldige en weerloze beestjes. Heerlijk volk toch....

The vast majority of the Canadians choose the (right wing conservative) Harper government. Everybody knows they are grim and merciless advocates of the seal hunt!! Totally implausible of the Canadian opponents to complain after the fact. You are all guilty as hell. Put your money were your mouth is at the next elections 80%, and choose/elect an animal friendly government!!!!!!
