It's a sad fact that rehoming some of the elderly animals that come into our care can be a difficult process. But the Elderly Animal Rehoming Scheme (EARS) aims to change this by pairing older animals with appropriate new owners.

Older cats can make wonderful pets - and they don't try to climb up your leg while you're cooking.

Kudos to those who have established EARS as well, of course, to those who support and endorse it. Obviously, more such programs need to be established.
(As an aside, in our area, there's S.A.I.N.T.S., a privately run society which does the same thing...)
